CFM Strengthens Long-Term Partnership With BOC Aviation Through 300-Engine LEAP Deal

(IN BRIEF) BOC Aviation has finalised a firm order with CFM International for up to 300 LEAP engines, including up to 200 LEAP-1A engines for Airbus A320neo family aircraft and 100 LEAP-1B engines for Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The order will power aircraft BOC Aviation had previously ordered and represents the lessor’s largest ever engine transaction. (PRESS RELEASE) FARNBOROUGH, 20-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — CFM International and BOC Aviation Limited have finalised a firm order for up to 300 LEAP engines to power Airbus and Boeing aircraft already ordered by the Singapore-based aircraft leasing company.

The agreement covers up to 200 LEAP-1A engines for Airbus A320neo family aircraft and 100 LEAP-1B engines for Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

CFM engines have powered part of BOC Aviation’s fleet since 1998. The lessor placed its first order for LEAP-1A engines in 2013, and today LEAP engines power more than 240 aircraft in BOC Aviation’s portfolio.

Steven Townend, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BOC Aviation, said the order represents the company’s largest ever engine transaction.

“This is our largest ever engine transaction and it will propel our growth from this decade into the next,” said Townend.

He added that the CFM LEAP engine family’s lower fuel-burn characteristics and emissions reductions support BOC Aviation’s commitment to building one of the most environmentally friendly fleets among major aircraft lessors.

The company continues to upgrade the LEAP fleet with a high-pressure turbine durability kit, designed to extend time on wing, and a reverse bleed system, intended to reduce airline maintenance burden.
