easyJet Strengthens Partnership with CFM International by Ordering LEAP-1A Engines for Airbus A320neo Family

(IN BRIEF) Leading European carrier easyJet has placed an order with CFM International for CFM LEAP-1A engines to power its fleet of 157 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, including 56 A320neo and 101 A321neo, with deliveries expected to begin in 2029. This order, part of a partnership that has spanned over 25 years, also includes spare engines and a multi-year services agreement. The move aims to enhance environmental sustainability, as the CFM LEAP engine family offers better fuel efficiency, reduced CO2 emissions, and lower noise levels compared to previous-generation engines. The aircraft order was announced in December 2023.

Today’s order strengthens a successful partnership of more than 25 years between the two companies. easyJet currently operates 257 Airbus A320ceos powered by CFM56-5B engines and 69 A320neos with LEAP-1A engines.
