Moeve Expands Madrid Service Station Offering With High-Capacity Car Wash Tunnel and Sustainable Technologies

(IN BRIEF) Moeve has opened one of Spain’s largest car washing areas at its flagship service station in Campo de las Naciones, Madrid. The 2,000 m² facility includes a 43.5-metre wash tunnel capable of cleaning 110 vehicles per hour and up to half a million vehicles per year, supported by 15 individual washing boxes, including one adapted for people with limited mobility. The site integrates sustainability-focused features, including 1,000 m² of solar panels that cover nearly 40% of the car wash area’s energy use and water treatment tanks that can store and reuse up to 50 cubic metres of water. Located near the M-40 and IFEMA, the car wash forms part of Moeve’s flagship service station, which also offers ultra-fast EV charging, retail, food services, digital systems and customer convenience services.

(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 9-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Moeve has opened a new car washing facility at its flagship service station in Campo de las Naciones, Madrid, creating one of the largest car wash areas in Spain.

Covering 2,000 square metres, the new centre has been designed to manage high vehicle volumes while improving energy efficiency, water reuse and the overall customer experience. The facility combines a large-capacity wash tunnel, individual washing bays, solar energy generation and water treatment systems to provide a faster and more sustainable car wash service.

The central feature of the site is a 43.5-metre car wash tunnel, with a total enclosed length of 50 metres. The tunnel operates with a dual conveyor belt system and can wash up to 110 vehicles per hour. At full operational capacity, the installation is able to handle up to half a million vehicles per year, allowing it to respond to peak demand periods, particularly during weekends.

Customers can pay directly on site by credit card and can also use Moeve gow and Moeve Pro loyalty programmes.

The tunnel allows vehicles to move continuously through the washing process without anchors, sudden movements or the need for specific positioning. This makes the system easier to use for different types of drivers and vehicles up to 2.40 metres in height.

The wash route includes 24 wash arches and a specialised system designed to remove dirt and build-up from the underside of vehicles. The wider car wash area also includes 15 individual washing boxes, one of which has adapted access for people with limited mobility. These bays use biodegradable detergents to support a more environmentally responsible washing process.

The facility incorporates 1,000 square metres of solar panels, which cover almost 40% of the car wash area’s total energy consumption. This is equivalent to the daily electricity use of approximately 20 households.

To reduce water use, the site is equipped with treatment and reuse tanks with a combined storage capacity of 50 cubic metres. This volume is sufficient for around 200 tunnel wash sessions or 1,000 washing cycles, enabling the facility to reuse water and reduce demand on external supply.

“From the outset, this facility was designed to offer customers the best possible service in the shortest possible time,” said Sergio Ortega Cid, Car Wash Manager at Moeve. “Every detail has been planned to make the car wash quick, convenient, flexible and high-quality, responding to the needs of today’s customers. As always, Moeve has also incorporated technologies that reduce energy consumption and encourage water reuse to strengthen sustainability.”

The new car wash area is located at Moeve’s flagship service station in Campo de las Naciones, a model site used by the company to test and implement technologies that may later be introduced across its network of more than 1,600 service stations in Spain and Portugal.

The station is positioned next to the M-40 beltway, close to the IFEMA exhibition centre, on a stretch of road used by an average of 127,900 vehicles per day, based on the latest data from Spain’s Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility.

Open 24 hours a day, the service station also offers six 350 kW ultra-fast charging points and a 300 square metre store with food, hygiene, household cleaning and self-care products. Additional services include a R’SPIRO corner with premium coffee and pastries, a food hall with a range of dining options and a package delivery service.

The site is fully digitalised and equipped with sensors designed to improve the customer experience and support more efficient station operations.
