PureCycle Selects Wood for Front-End Engineering on New Polypropylene Recycling Plant in Thailand

(IN BRIEF) Wood has been selected by PureCycle Technologies (Thailand) Company Limited to deliver front-end engineering and design services for a new polypropylene dissolution recycling facility in Rayong, Thailand. The project, being developed with IRPC Public Company Limited at its eco-industrial site, will include a recycling line capable of producing up to 130 million pounds of recycled polypropylene per year. Wood’s role will focus on the Outside Battery Limits FEED scope, including integration of the new facility with IRPC’s existing petrochemical complex, utilities, logistics and site infrastructure. The award builds on a two-year relationship between Wood and PureCycle and may progress into an engineering, procurement and construction management phase later in 2026, subject to approvals. Construction is expected to start in the second half of 2026, with mechanical completion planned for the end of 2027 and operations ramping up in 2028.

(PRESS RELEASE) ABERDEEN, 17-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Wood has been selected by PureCycle Technologies (Thailand) Company Limited, a subsidiary of PureCycle Technologies, to provide front-end engineering and design services for a new polypropylene dissolution recycling facility in Rayong, Thailand.

The planned facility forms part of PureCycle’s international expansion programme and will be developed in partnership with IRPC Public Company Limited at its eco-industrial site in Rayong. The project will include a polypropylene recycling line designed to produce up to 130 million pounds of recycled polypropylene output per year, supporting Thailand’s efforts to advance circular materials management and expand recycling capacity.

Under the contract, Wood will deliver the Outside Battery Limits front-end engineering and design scope, building on preliminary work already completed for PureCycle. This phase will focus on connecting the new recycling facility with IRPC’s existing petrochemical complex, including the integration of utilities, logistics and site infrastructure during the early design stage.

The award further extends Wood’s relationship with PureCycle, following two years of cooperation and several assignments delivered in the United States. Subject to further approvals, Wood is expected to move the project into the engineering, procurement and construction management phase later in 2026.

John Mtanios, Regional President of APAC at Wood, said the company is pleased to continue supporting PureCycle on a project of regional importance. He said the Rayong facility shows how advanced recycling technologies can be integrated into existing industrial infrastructure to support circular economy goals at scale. He added that Wood’s team brings experience in new recycling technology projects, together with an established presence in Thailand, to support the safe and efficient development of the facility.

Wood will bring both international and local capabilities to the project, with teams in the United States and Thailand contributing to the work. The company also has recent experience with IRPC in Rayong, having provided project management services for the Ultra Clean Fuel Project, which included a diesel hydro-treating unit and a hydrogen manufacturing unit.

Construction of the polypropylene recycling facility is expected to begin in the second half of 2026. Mechanical completion is targeted for the end of 2027, with operations expected to ramp up in 2028.
