Standard Chartered appoints Benjamin Hung as CEO for Greater China region

London, UK, 4-4-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Standard Chartered announces the appointment of Benjamin Hung as the Chief Executive Officer for the Bank’s Greater China region, effective today. This new appointment is in addition to his existing role as the CEO for Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong Limited. In his expanded capacity, Ben will oversee the Bank’s operations in Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan.

Joining the Bank in 1992, Ben has held a number of senior management positions across the Bank’s operations in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, spanning corporate, commercial and retail banking, as well as investor relations. In his new role, Ben will continue to report to Jaspal Bindra, Group Executive Director and CEO Asia of Standard Chartered Bank.

Commenting on the appointment, Jaspal says, “The appointment of the Greater China CEO is a key milestone in the implementation of our regional structure, which will see much closer partnership between our teams in the region.
