(IN BRIEF) Ricoh has expanded its strategic partnership with Sattler Media through the purchase of a third RICOH Pro VC80000 high-speed webfed inkjet press. After installing the first system in 2024 and a second in 2025, Sattler Media is continuing to build high-speed inkjet capacity across two German production sites, making the technology a central element of its print manufacturing strategy. The Pro VC80000 delivers up to 1,200 × 1,200 dpi resolution and production speeds of 150 meters per minute, offering significantly faster performance than previous models. With three presses in operation, Sattler Media will establish specialised production lines for dialogue marketing and direct mail, saddle-stitched brochures, and perfect-bound magazines and catalogues, enabling a wide range of applications with improved efficiency and consistent quality. The printing systems are supported by Ricoh software tools such as TotalFlow Optimizer and Predictive Insight, which enhance automation, workflow management and performance monitoring. Artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities also allow the system to automatically detect and correct print quality issues in real time, reducing waste and improving productivity. The investment reflects Sattler Media’s focus on automation, AI-driven workflows and high-volume personalised printing, while reinforcing Ricoh’s position as a leader in inkjet production printing technology.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 5-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Ricoh has strengthened its strategic collaboration with Sattler Media, one of Europe’s leading print and media service providers, through the acquisition of a third RICOH Pro VC80000 high-speed webfed inkjet printing system. The latest investment follows the installation of the world’s first Pro VC80000 in 2024 and a second unit deployed last spring. With this additional system, Sattler Media continues expanding its high-speed inkjet production capacity across two facilities in Germany, positioning the technology as a core component of print manufacturing at both sites.

Sattler Media, known for its expertise in commercial printing, direct mail services, omnichannel marketing and logistics, is accelerating its focus on automation, artificial intelligence and high-productivity workflows. By integrating additional Ricoh printing systems and introducing new application capabilities, the company is further advancing automated print production. The new production setup will enable a significant share of mailing output as well as high-quality personalised print products to be produced on the advanced inkjet line, offering improved flexibility and cost efficiency compared with traditional offset printing systems.

The Pro VC80000 delivers a maximum resolution of 1,200 × 1,200 dpi, while maintaining high image quality even at 1,200 × 600 dpi at top production speeds. The press can operate at 150 meters per minute, representing a performance increase of approximately 50 percent compared with the previous generation. Through the addition of the third press, Sattler Media is expanding its overall production capacity while opening new possibilities for industrial-scale printing applications.

The expanded production environment will consist of three specialised printing lines, each designed for different finishing processes. One line will focus on dialogue marketing and direct mail production, another will handle saddle-stitched brochures, and the third will produce perfect-bound magazines and catalogues. This structure allows the company to support a broad range of print applications with high efficiency and consistent quality across different product types.

Automation and workflow integration play a central role in the production strategy. Ricoh’s software portfolio, including TotalFlow Optimizer, supports production management, quality control and communication between different workflow stages. In addition, Ricoh’s Predictive Insight platform collects operational data from the presses, offering detailed analysis of machine utilisation, productivity levels and profitability.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are integrated directly into the printing system to enhance production reliability. The Pro VC80000 can automatically detect and correct print quality deviations in real time without requiring operator intervention. This automated self-diagnosis capability helps maintain consistent print quality while reducing waste caused by reprints.

Ralf Büttner, Managing Director of Sattler Group GmbH, noted that the addition of a third system significantly strengthens the company’s production capabilities. With three Pro VC80000 presses in operation, the organisation now has a production landscape that offers exceptional diversity and flexibility. The clearly defined production lines for dialogue marketing, saddle-stitched brochures and perfect-bound publications allow personalised and non-personalised print products to be produced efficiently and consistently across multiple locations.

Christian Haneke, Innovation & Solutions Manager at Sattler Media, highlighted that the investment also reflects the company’s long-term strategy to position high-speed inkjet printing as a central technology within its operations. The third system expands production capacity while allowing the company to serve clients more flexibly across Germany and throughout Europe. Haneke added that collaboration with Ricoh has also enabled the development of new applications and services, supporting growing demand for flexible and customised print solutions.

From Ricoh’s perspective, the investment demonstrates continued confidence in its inkjet production technology. Sander Sondaal, Director of Commercial Print Sales at Ricoh Europe’s Graphic Communications Group, emphasised that the Pro VC80000 has reinforced Ricoh’s leadership in high-volume inkjet printing. He also noted that Sattler Media has become the first Ricoh customer globally to operate three Pro VC80000 systems, further highlighting the close and longstanding partnership between the two companies.

The expanded deployment of Ricoh’s high-speed inkjet technology marks an important step for Sattler Media as it continues modernising its print production infrastructure and developing new services for clients across the European print and marketing sector.
