Hydro is being recognized by DENSO for supporting its sustainability initiatives by delivering heat exchange components and systems based on recycled and low-carbon aluminium.
(PRESS RELEASE) OSLO, 7-Dec-2021 — /EuropaWire/ — Hydro (OTCMKTS: NHYDY), a Norwegian aluminium and renewable energy company committed to a sustainable future, has announced that its business unit Hydro Precision Tubing has earned the company a DENSO Award for Excellent Collaboration for Sustainability Initiatives for its recycled and low-carbon aluminium used in heat exchange components and systems. Aligned with the company’s goal to reduce CO2 emissions, DENSO appreciated the proactive collaboration provided by the aluminum tubing team in Denmark.
The Tønder-based team is credited with developing solutions combining low-carbon Hydro REDUXA with post-consumer aluminium scrap, to meet DENSO requirements.
Produced with renewable energy, Hydro REDUXA has a maximum carbon footprint of 4.0 kg CO2 per kg aluminium produced. This is one-fourth of the global average.
Strong support, excellent collaboration
Shimpei Fujisawa, who is director of EUP Purchasing for DENSO Deutschland, says “this award certifies Hydro Tønder’s strong support and great contribution to DENSO in 2020. With this award, we want to show our appreciation for Hydro Tønder’s excellent collaboration regarding carbon-free, recycling rate and CO2 emissions topics.”
Michael Wind, sales director for Hydro Precision Tubing in Europe, points out that Hydro has received a number of awards from DENSO over the years – including top supplier honors – but that “this one is special. This is an example of internal collaboration at its best, resulting in exceeding customer expectations.”
