Gartner’s July 2015 Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools places SAS in its Leaders quadrant for the fifth year

Marlow, UK, 19-8-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Gartner Inc.’s July 2015 Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools places SAS in its Leaders quadrant, based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. This is the fifth year that SAS has been named a leader.

“As organisations struggle to fully integrate Hadoop and emerging data technologies into their data strategy to reduce costs, SAS provides enterprise data integration solutions to manage both emerging data sources like Hadoop as well as traditional ones to streamline data delivery and provision trusted, governed data to drive accurate analytics,” said Matthew Magne, Global Product Marketing Manager for Data Management at SAS.

According to the Gartner report, “Enterprise buyers increasingly see data integration as a strategic requirement, for which they want comprehensive data delivery capabilities, flexible deployment models, and synergies with information and application infrastructures.”

SAS provides enterprise data integration, ETL and ELT capabilities primarily through its SAS® Data Management offering, virtual views of traditional and emerging data sources via SAS® Federation Server, extremely high-volume low-latency pattern matching and decision management with SAS® Event Stream Processing, and self-service big data preparation and data cleansing capabilities for business users through SAS® Data Loader for Hadoop.

The report’s authors note that, “Gartner estimates that the data integration tool market was worth approximately $2.4 billion in constant currency at the end of 2014, an increase of 6.9% from 2013. The growth rate is above the average for the enterprise software market as a whole, as data integration capability continues to be considered of critical importance for addressing the diversity of problems and emerging requirements. A projected five-year compound annual growth rate of approximately 7.7% will bring the total to more than $3.4 billion by 2019 (see “Forecast: Enterprise Software Markets, Worldwide, 2012-2019, 2Q15 Update”).”

“We believe being positioned in the Leaders quadrant for the fifth consecutive year is reflective of our expertise in enterprise data integration, data management and data preparation for analytics,” added Magne. “SAS’ data integration technologies will help ensure that an organisation’s data is always clean, accessible and ready for anything.”
