Animated comedy series The Epic Adventures of Morph joins family friendly entertainment available on Sky Kids

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 28-Oct-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Sky Kids announces the debut of a brand new action-packed stop-frame animated comedy series from Aardman, The Epic Adventures of Morph. The 15-five minute episodes, the longest season of Morph yet, will air this November making it the perfect way for the whole family to escape this Autumn.

After almost 40 years apart, The Epic Adventures of Morph will see Morph and his sidekick Chas reunited with their old friends Delilah, Grandmorph and the Very Small Creatures. Morph and the gang are up to their usual mischievous antics, but in bigger and bolder adventures that take them beyond their desktop home and into the wider world for the very first time.

From Aardman’s industry leading animators, The Epic Adventures of Morph is fast-paced, action-packed and full of slapstick comedy moments – perfect for nostalgia lovers and families alike.

Staying true to the original format, The Epic Adventures of Morph was shot using clay and traditional stop-frame animation without dialogue at Morph’s original home, the Aardman studios in Bristol.

The first 10 episodes will be available on Sky Kids across all Sky platforms including Sky Q, Sky+, the Sky Kids App and the NOW TV Kids Pass from 9th November – making it the perfect way for the whole family to escape this Autumn.

Merlin Crossingham, Director of Morph said: “My fantastic team at Aardman have tackled some serious challenges since the pandemic hit half way through production. They rose to the challenge with skill and professionalism, putting their hearts into creating this latest series of Morph. More impressive still is the fact that this is our biggest and most ambitious series yet. I am very proud of them all and am delighted that The Epic Adventures of Morph can now be premiered on Sky Kids.”

About Aardman

Aardman, based in Bristol (UK) and co-founded in 1976 by Peter Lord and David Sproxton, is an independent and multi-award-winning studio. It produces feature films, series, advertising, games and interactive entertainment – such as the ‘visually astonishing’ (Guardian), BAFTA® nominated console game, 11-11: Memories Retold, and the four-times Gold Cannes Lions-winning StorySign app – and innovative attractions for both the domestic and international market, including a new 4D theatre attraction at Efteling in the Netherlands.

Its productions are global in appeal, novel, entertaining, brilliantly characterised and full of charm reflecting the unique talent, energy and personal commitment of the Aardman team. The studio’s work – which includes the creation of much-loved characters including Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Morph – is often imitated, and yet the company continues to lead the field producing a rare brand of visually stunning content for cinema, broadcasters, digital platforms and live experiences around the world.

The studio runs the Aardman Academy to nurture talent and strengthen ties between the animation industry and education. The Aardman Academy offers a variety of courses from intensive one-day workshops teaching production skills and storyboarding, to comprehensive twelve-week courses for professionals in craft based subjects from model making to animation.

In November 2018 it became an Employee Owned Organisation, to ensure Aardman remains independent and to secure the creative legacy and culture of the company for many decades to come. www.aardman.com

About Morph

Morph is the animated clay character who made his TV debut in 1977 in the children’s BBC programme Take Hart, alongside the artist and presenter Tony Hart. He was one of Aardman’s first creations and was later joined by his cream-coloured partner-in-crime Chas.

Morph was a regular fixture on children’s television throughout the 70s and 80s, and received his own Blue Peter badge on 9th March 1981 when Blue Peter presenter Sarah Greene visited the Aardman studios.

In 2013, almost 40 years after his TV debut, Morph made a comeback following a hugely successful crowdfunding campaign. He has a dedicated fan base of nostalgic adult fans and a growing audience of children who follow his adventures on his thriving YouTube channel and on Sky Kids. Despite now being in his forties, Morph is as mischievous as ever.
