(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 5-MAY-2023 — /EuropaWire/ —AFRY has signed a contract with car manufacturer Valmet Automotive to improve and develop the manufacturing process and production line at the car plant in Uusikaupunki, Finland.

The contract includes modifying part of Valmet Automotive’s existing process that is required in the manufacturing of a sports car. AFRY has successfully completed a great number of projects within similar fields of technology for a variety of clients within the automotive industry. AFRY’s expertise and local presence in Turku and Vantaa mean that AFRY in collaboration with Valmet Automotive can effectuate this project successfully and safely.

AFRY uses simulations to plan how to make a new product using the same production lines and processes as before. AFRY will rebuild some of the equipment in Sweden, then ship it to the Valmet Automotive’s car plant in Uusikaupunki.

The car is assembled according to the highest quality requirements in the automotive industry and with a larger scope of custom tailoring options than any other car previously made at the car plant.

“AFRY brings value to this project by providing production lines with high-quality robotic automation and innovative solutions for the automotive industry. I’m looking forward to following the project closely”, says Michael Mjörnestål, VP and Head of Business Area Advanced Automation.
