(IN BRIEF) Viessmann Climate Solutions and E.ON Germany are launching a cooperation to integrate Viessmann heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, battery storage units and wallboxes with the E.ON Home Energy Management System. The partnership is intended to help households manage energy use more intelligently, reduce electricity costs and benefit from flexible energy consumption, while also supporting installer partners with new commercial opportunities through the E.ON Home Partner Program. The E.ON Home Energy Manager meets key German regulatory requirements and can be combined with E.ON Home Comfort, eligible fixed-rate tariff options and compatible home energy technologies. Under the program, customers can optimize the charging and operation of solar storage systems, heat pumps and electric vehicles, with a four-person household able to reduce annual electricity costs by up to 990 euros through optimized solar self-consumption and bonuses. The cooperation also adds Viessmann Climate Solutions to the E.ON Heat Pump Finder, enabling customers seeking Viessmann heat pump solutions to be connected with regional Viessmann installer partners for quotation, installation and commissioning.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH / ALLENDORF (EDER), 22-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Viessmann Climate Solutions and E.ON Germany are entering into a new collaboration designed to make smart, flexible home energy management more accessible for residential customers and installer partners across Germany. Through the cooperation, Viessmann heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, battery storage units and wallboxes can now be offered in combination with the E.ON Home Energy Management System, enabling households to manage energy use more intelligently while supporting the broader energy transition.

Viessmann Climate Solutions, part of Carrier Global Corporation, is expanding the range of options available to its installation partners by integrating E.ON’s Home Energy Manager into its offering. The system is designed to optimize the energy consumption of compatible technologies, including solar power systems, battery storage solutions, heat pumps and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. For Viessmann installer partners, the cooperation provides another way to support customers with integrated, future-ready home energy systems while broadening the existing Viessmann HEMS portfolio.

The partnership also creates financial opportunities for participating installation companies through the E.ON Home Partner Program***. Viessmann specialist partners can receive 20 euros for every installed E.ON Home Energy Manager and an additional 100 euros when customers complete an E.ON Home Comfort service contract***.

Martin Endress, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON Energie Deutschland, said the partnership brings together E.ON, Viessmann Climate Solutions, trade professionals and homeowners in a shared effort to advance flexible energy use. He noted that unlocking the flexibility potential of residential solar storage systems, heat pumps and electric vehicles can help improve the efficiency of the energy system while also creating financial benefits for both installation companies and customers.

Dr. Conrad Wiedeler, Managing Director of Viessmann Deutschland GmbH, said the cooperation allows Viessmann installer partners to offer residential customers the company’s product portfolio together with E.ON HEMS, E.ON Home Comfort and suitable tariff options. This gives installers more flexibility in responding to the individual needs of end customers.

The E.ON Home Energy Manager is designed to meet the requirements of Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act and Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Act. It is compatible with a broad selection of solar systems, battery storage units, heat pumps and electric vehicle wallboxes from multiple manufacturers, while many existing systems can also be integrated. The system can be managed through a web application, offering customers a convenient way to control their home energy setup.

As part of E.ON Home Comfort, customers also receive a smart metering system installed free of charge. The E.ON Home Energy Manager can be paired with fixed-rate tariff options*** as well as dynamic electricity tariffs from any energy provider. Customers using or selecting one of E.ON’s eligible fixed-rate tariff plans can reduce electricity costs through flexible energy use supported by the E.ON Home Comfort smart add-on service.

E.ON Home Comfort enables eligible customers to automatically charge solar storage systems, heat pumps and electric vehicles with grid power at strategically selected times, particularly during periods of lower demand such as overnight. Customers can earn different bonuses while maintaining everyday comfort, as electric vehicles are charged by the desired departure time and energy systems are supplied according to household needs. A four-person household can reduce electricity costs by up to 990 euros** through optimized use of self-generated solar power and related bonuses**.

The partnership also includes the integration of Viessmann Climate Solutions into the E.ON Heat Pump Finder as a listed manufacturer. When a customer requests a quote for a Viessmann heat pump, such as the Vitocal 250-A air-to-water heat pump, a regional Viessmann installer partner can be assigned to provide the offer, install the product and commission the system. The Viessmann hardware is then combined with E.ON’s energy management system and professionally configured at the customer’s home.

The Vitocal 250-A* air-to-water heat pump was again recognized by Stiftung Warentest in 2025 as a top-rated model, receiving an overall quality rating of “GOOD (2.0)” in the 10/2025 publication.

Viessmann Climate Solutions and E.ON Germany plan to continue developing joint solutions that make it easier for customers to benefit from smart and flexible electricity products. The companies aim to support households in combining renewable energy generation, storage, heating and electric mobility into more efficient and connected home energy systems.

Viessmann installer partners can access further information through the contact form for the GridBox and E.ON Home partnership, while additional details about the E.ON Home Partner Program are available through E.ON’s service partner information channels.

*In the 10/2025 publication, the Vitocal 250-A air-to-water heat pump with a rated heating capacity of 10 kW (model AWO-E AC 251.A10) was once again named the test winner by Stiftung Warentest. It outperformed four other models from different manufacturers in the test and received a quality rating of “GOOD (2.0).”
** Maximum savings consist of Comfort and connection bonuses of up to €420 per year (bonuses apply for 24 months following the initial connection of the energy solutions to the E.ON Home Box), savings from optimized solar power usage, and a flat-rate reduction in grid usage fees if the requirements under Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) are met. Calculation/Methodology: In the calculation for cost reduction with E.ON Home Comfort, the E.ON Home Energy Manager (acquisition cost in conjunction with the new E.ON Home Comfort: 1 euro) optimizes solar power usage and feed-in from an average-sized 10 kWp solar system and defers grid power consumption by the 7.7 kWh solar storage unit, the 5 kW heat pump, and the electric car with a 70 kWh battery to times of lower electricity demand. The feed-in tariff for the solar system is 7.86 cents/kWh. The annual mileage corresponds to the average annual mileage of a passenger car in Germany, as reported by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (12,309 km). The electric car is on the road all day, three days a week (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.). For annual household electricity consumption (excluding energy consumption from the electric car, heat pump, and battery storage charging), approximately 3,600 kWh was assumed for a three-person household and 4,000 kWh for a four-person household in a single-family home with energy efficiency class B and a living area of 150 square meters. In both the three-person and four-person households, one person works from home, while the second works from home two days a week and in the office three days a week. In addition, there are one and two school-age children, respectively. For the fixed-price electricity rate, 32 cents per kWh is assumed as an example. To qualify for the full bonuses, the energy solutions must be compatible with the E.ON Home Box; the Smart Mode in the E.ON Home App must be used to meet the bonus conditions for each energy solution; a smart meter is required to shift consumption to optimize grid utilization; and an E.ON electricity tariff must be in place. In addition to the wallbox being compatible with the E.ON Home Box, the E-Auto Comfort Bonus can also be obtained if the electric vehicle is directly compatible with the E.ON Home App.
*** An installed E.ON Home Energy Manager earns one point—and each point is worth 20 euros. If the customer also signs up for E.ON HomeComfort in conjunction with one of E.ON’s many fixed-rate plans*, the installation company receives an additional 100 euros (= five points).
**** Most E.ON electricity plans can be combined with E.ON Home Comfort, with the following exceptions: heating electricity plans, basic service, emergency service, dynamic plans, and E.ON Home & Drive plans.
