T Cloud Public Emerges as Europe’s Competitive Hyperscaler Alternative with Industrial AI Cloud Integration and Strong Data Sovereignty

Europe’s Answer to Hyperscalers: Deutsche Telekom launches T Cloud Public

(IN BRIEF) Deutsche Telekom is transforming T Cloud Public into a fully sovereign European cloud platform that will achieve full core feature parity with US hyperscalers by the end of 2026, while already offering 80 percent of key functionalities today. The platform combines scalable infrastructure, advanced AI capabilities via the Industrial AI Cloud, and strong data sovereignty protections to provide a competitive alternative for European organizations. Built on a zero-trust architecture and certified to the highest security standards, T Cloud Public ensures EU-compliant data processing in protected European data centers. With over 4,000 enterprise customers and extensive certification coverage, the platform aims to reduce vendor lock-in through open standards and migration support, making it a reliable foundation for AI-driven digital transformation across regulated and unregulated sectors.

(PRESS RELEASE) BONN, 2-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Deutsche Telekom is significantly expanding T Cloud Public to establish it as a fully sovereign, high-performance cloud platform for Europe that matches the core capabilities of leading US hyperscalers. By the end of 2026, the platform is set to achieve complete parity in essential cloud functions, while already delivering around 80 percent of comparable core features today. The company is positioning T Cloud Public as a competitive, scalable and secure alternative that enables European organizations to pursue digital transformation and AI strategies without dependence on non-European providers. To facilitate this transition, Deutsche Telekom is offering automated migration tools alongside professional services to support customers on their sovereignty journey.

According to Dr. Ferri Abolhassan, CEO of T-Systems and member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG, the expansion marks the end of a binary choice between full functionality from international providers and European digital sovereignty. He emphasized that T Cloud Public combines both, providing a robust technological foundation for Europe’s digital competitiveness while maintaining independence and security.

With this development, Deutsche Telekom is positioning itself among a small group of European providers operating at a level comparable to global cloud giants. Independent analysis from Information Services Group (ISG) suggests that T Cloud Public already surpasses many European alternatives and is more competitive than certain offerings from major international cloud providers. The platform can also be seamlessly integrated with the Industrial AI Cloud, which officially launches on February 4 and will increase Germany’s available GPU capacity by 50 percent, making it the largest sovereign AI infrastructure in Europe.

T Cloud Public is designed as a comprehensive toolkit for modern IT infrastructures, offering compute power, storage, managed databases, and preconfigured development environments that can be deployed with minimal effort. A key advantage is its direct access to high-performance GPU resources through the Industrial AI Cloud, enabling advanced AI workloads without the need for proprietary hardware. The platform’s modular architecture allows organizations to select only the services they require, from basic networking to full AI pipelines. Automated background processes reduce administrative complexity, and full core feature parity with leading hyperscalers is expected by the end of 2026.

Security and digital sovereignty are central to the platform’s design. T Cloud Public is built on a zero-trust architecture and certified to the highest security standards, including C5. All data processing takes place in European data centers that are protected against access by third countries, ensuring full compliance with EU regulations. Beyond technical safeguards, Deutsche Telekom guarantees legal and operational sovereignty under European law. Dr. Christine Knackfuss, Chief Sovereignty Officer and Board Member at T-Systems, stated that the company continuously assesses and strengthens its sovereignty framework, using telecommunications regulations as a benchmark for independence.

With more than 4,000 enterprise customers—including major DAX corporations, mid-sized businesses, and public sector organizations—T Cloud Public has already demonstrated its reliability and performance. The upcoming feature expansion further establishes it as a true European alternative in the global hyperscaler market. By leveraging open standards and providing structured migration support, the platform minimizes vendor lock-in and enables a smooth transition to a sovereign cloud environment. Its extensive certification portfolio, which exceeds that of many competitors, makes it particularly attractive for regulated industries such as finance and public administration, reducing compliance burdens while ensuring secure and legally compliant operations.
