(PRESS RELEASE) BONN, 15-Aog-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Deutsche Telekom has officially launched its new AI-phone and AI-tablet, marking a major step in making artificial intelligence accessible to everyday users at an affordable price. Equipped with the Perplexity Assistant, the devices are designed to simplify daily life, offering practical support for a wide range of tasks—from finding recipes and writing emails to planning travel, translating languages, recommending entertainment, and providing fitness tips. With just a press of the magenta button or a quick tap on the lock screen, customers can activate the AI assistant to answer questions, perform actions, and interact with both on-screen and real-world content through voice or text commands.

The Perplexity Assistant works seamlessly with pre-installed apps to carry out functions such as creating calendar entries, sending messages, ordering rides, booking restaurants, offering personalised training and nutrition plans, recommending shopping options, and even serving as a tutor. By integrating this AI directly into the T Phone 3 and T Tablet 2, Deutsche Telekom offers customers a versatile companion that blends entertainment, productivity, and personal assistance in one package.

Dominique Leroy, Board Member for Europe at Deutsche Telekom, highlighted the vision behind the devices: “Together with trusted partners, we’re bringing the AI-phone to people across Europe. It takes care of everyday tasks and finds reliable information quickly, so customers can focus on what truly matters—where their ideas and creativity shine.”

The AI-phone is priced at €149 in Germany, while the AI-tablet is available for €199. When purchased with a tariff, both devices cost just €1 each. Prices include an 18-month subscription to Perplexity Pro, with the assistant remaining permanently available on the devices, plus a three-month Picsart Pro license and 500 monthly credits. The devices are being released today in Germany, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, and Slovakia.

Beyond AI capabilities, the new models bring improved performance with upgraded chipsets, faster charging, enhanced camera AI tools for creative image editing, and sustainability credentials, including the T Phone 3’s #GreenMagenta label and high Eco Rating score, as well as the T Tablet 2’s use of 75% post-consumer recycled plastic in its back casing. A Pro version of the AI-phone will follow later this year, and the T Tablet 2 also supports a T-Pen stylus for creative work.

For customers not purchasing new devices, Deutsche Telekom is also offering “Magenta AI” through its MeinMagenta app, giving free access to selected AI tools such as Perplexity’s answer engine and a Picsart-powered background editor. Board Member for Technology and Innovation Claudia Nemat underlined the importance of encouraging AI adoption, stating: “AI is the defining technology of our time. We want to give customers direct access to AI tools so they can explore its possibilities first-hand.”

With industry analysts forecasting that AI-enabled smartphones will dominate the market by 2028, Deutsche Telekom is positioning its AI-phone and AI-tablet as competitive, future-ready devices that combine innovation, practicality, and affordability for consumers across Europe.
