Skanska to Build Second Data Center Facility on Virginia Campus Under USD 94 Million Contract

(IN BRIEF) Skanska has signed an initial USD 94 million contract with an existing client to build a 19,500-square-metre data center in Virginia. The project includes four data halls, site works and underground utilities, and will be the second building on the campus. The contract, worth about SEK 870 million, will be included in Skanska’s U.S. order bookings for the second quarter of 2026. Construction is expected to start in October 2026 and finish in May 2028.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 3-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Skanska has secured an initial contract from an existing client to construct a data center in Virginia, United States. The contract is valued at USD 94 million, equivalent to approximately SEK 870 million.

The order will be recorded in Skanska’s U.S. order bookings for the second quarter of 2026.

The assignment covers the construction of a 19,500-square-metre, or 210,000-square-foot, data center. The facility will include four data halls, associated site development works and underground utility infrastructure.

The project will represent the second building developed on the data center campus.

Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026, with completion planned for May 2028.
