AF Gruppen Wins Major Onshore Disposal Contract with Potential for 30,000 Metric Tonnes of Structures

(IN BRIEF) AF Gruppen has secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Allseas for the onshore disposal of a 12,000 metric tonne topside structure, with an option for a second topside, potentially totaling up to 30,000 metric tonnes. The project will involve the preparation, engineering, dismantling, and recycling of the structure at AF Gruppen’s disposal yard. The work is set to begin this autumn, with the structure(s) to be received within the next few years. This contract highlights AF Gruppen’s expertise in onshore dismantling and recycling.

(PRESS RELEASE) OSLO, 28-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — AF Gruppen has been awarded a significant contract from Allseas, represented by EXCALIBUR MARINE CONTRACTORS S.A, to handle the onshore disposal of a 12,000 metric tonne topside structure. The contract also includes an option for a second topside, potentially increasing the total scope to between 25,000 and 30,000 metric tonnes.

The project will involve comprehensive preparation and engineering work starting this autumn, with the structures expected to be delivered to the disposal yard over the next few years. AF Gruppen will oversee the surveying, engineering, dismantling, and recycling of the topside, which will be transported to the yard by Allseas in a single lift.
