Volocopter Partners with Jet Systems to Launch eVTOL Services in France

(IN BRIEF) Volocopter has partnered with Jet Systems Hélicoptères Services to introduce electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft services in France. The collaboration will begin with the deployment of two VoloCity eVTOL aircraft in Paris, with plans to expand to other regions, leveraging Jet Systems’ established network and expertise.

(PRESS RELEASE) VALENCE/BRUCHSAL, 18-Feb-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Volocopter, a leader in sustainable urban air mobility (UAM), has joined forces with Jet Systems Hélicoptères Services, a prominent provider of licensed air services with over three decades of experience in passenger flights, to bring electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft services to France. This long-term collaboration will mark a significant milestone in the development of eco-friendly air transport in Europe.

Under the agreement, the initial phase will see the delivery of two VoloCity eVTOL aircraft following their certification by the European Union Aviation Safety Authority (EASA). Volocopter will contribute its expertise in areas such as product development, maintenance, pilot training, and fleet management via its digital platform, VoloIQ. Meanwhile, Jet Systems Hélicoptères Services will manage operational services, including the recruitment of pilots, ground crew, and maintenance personnel, while also working with local cities and infrastructure partners to facilitate the launch of operations.

The eVTOL services will initially roll out in Paris, where the city, in partnership with European and French authorities, has established a network of approved flight routes and infrastructure. This safety infrastructure is the result of years of collaboration with Groupe ADP and the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC), ensuring the safe integration of eVTOL aircraft into Paris’ airspace. Over time, the partnership will expand its reach to France’s southwest and southeast regions, capitalizing on Jet Systems’ existing helicopter routes, which currently serve up to 15,000 passengers annually.

Michel Moulin, CEO of Jet Systems Hélicoptères Services, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Partnering with Volocopter to bring innovative, environmentally friendly, and safe mobility solutions to Paris is a milestone for us. Volocopter’s rigorously certified aircraft and expertise will enable us to offer passengers a new and efficient way to experience the city, while minimizing our environmental impact and meeting the needs of our customers.”

Andreas Fehring, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Volocopter, also shared his excitement: “We are thrilled to partner with Jet Systems and bring eVTOL operations to Paris, a city we’ve been focusing on for years. With 75% of our EASA audits completed, we are on the verge of achieving VoloCity’s certification, and we are committed to meeting the expectations of both our customers and cities eager to integrate sustainable mobility solutions.”
