Volkswagen Group taps Amazon Web Services executive for transformation role

She has more than 20 years of international management experience and previously served as General Manager Switzerland and Austria at Amazon Web Services, achieving double-digit growth rates. (PRESS RELEASE) WOLFSBURG, 6-Mar-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Volkswagen Group (ETR: VOW3), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of automobiles and commercial vehicles, announces that Yvonne Bettkober has been appointed as the new Head of Organizational Development and Transformation for the Volkswagen Group, effective April 1, 2023. She will succeed Dr. Katharina Peterwerth, who left the company last year. Bettkober brings with her more than 20 years of international management experience, having previously served as General Manager Switzerland and Austria at Amazon Web Services, where she established a new AWS business unit and achieved double-digit growth rates. Prior to that, she spent 13 years at Microsoft, where she held various management roles, including leading the transformation of Microsoft Switzerland from a product and license business to a service business.

In her new role at Volkswagen, Bettkober will be responsible for corporate development, strategic organizational design, and digital business models. She will report to Hauke Stars, Member of the Board of Management for IT and Organization. Bettkober is a proven transformation expert with experience in building new regional structures, reorganizing software marketing, and establishing new organizational structures and processes. She holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and studied electrical and telecommunications engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. Bettkober is fluent in four languages and has worked in more than 20 countries.
