Infront host broadcaster for the FIS Alpine and Nordic World Ski Championships

(PRESS RELEASE) ZUG, 5-Mar-2019 — /EuropaWire/ — Infront will be, for the first time, the host broadcaster for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The company will responsible for the full delivery of media production including the running of the international broadcast centre and all broadcaster servicing.

Both events will have as well new sponsors when they take place in Åre, Sweden between 4  and 17 February and in Seefeld, Austria from 19 February to 3 March.

Television audiences are expected to be substantial with both World Ski Championships (Nordic and Alpine seasons) set to be broadcast globally to 175 countries through 40 broadcasters.

Infront has sold all international sponsoring packages for this year’s editions of both events.

Infront will offer 111 hours of live coverage for both the Alpine World Ski Championships and the Nordic World Ski Championships including action from all races, the opening and closing ceremonies as well as medal presentations.

Taking into account the worldwide coverage when news and highlights distribution is included the expected combined total potential households reach will be over 815 million globally.

For the Alpine World Ski Championships, Infront will be working with Swedish SVT and production will be done remotely for the first time. Over 150 people will help deliver 80 camera signals from the course to three broadcast control rooms in Stockholm.

Infront will partner with ORF for the The Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld.

Swedish leisure and retail company SkiStar is going to be the Presenting Sponsor with sports betting company Unibet also supporting as Main Sponsor for the first time. SkiStar and Unibet will join Audi, Pirelli, Liqui Moly, Bauhaus, Helvetia and Longines (Timing Partner) as Main Sponsors.

New soft LED lighting banners installed in the finishing area will give the eight sponsors an increased exposure and better visibility in all light conditions.

They will also be used in future Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup races for the 2019/20 season as well as during the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2021 in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Stora Enso will be the Presenting Sponsor for the Nordic World Ski Championships while Main Sponsors are Haier, Unibet, Manner and Junghans (Timing Partner) who all signed new agreements for the event, as well as returning brands Viessmann, Intersport, Liqui Moly, Helvetia and Le Gruyere.

The in-venue advertising with wooden start and finish installations and dimmable LED split time tools along the cross-country track were all done with innovation and sustainability in mind.

It is the second time for Infront to deliver its media production service to both World Ski Championships.

Infront will support host broadcasters ORF and SVT with exclusive short-form content and infographics for its social media channels for the first time taking the spirit of both events from the snow to fans’ social media streams.
