Topping-out Ceremony for “Intelligent Quarters” held by STRABAG Real Estate and ECE

WATERMARK, SHIPYARD and FREEPORT are developed on the designated sites of Überseeallee

HAMBURG, 25-Apr-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — STRABAG Real Estate GmbH (SRE) and ECE held the topping-out ceremony for the WATERMARK high-rise, the adjacent SHIPYARD office building, and the FREEPORT building complex. To date, the buildings have been known as the “Intelligent Quarters” (IQ).

Dr. Dorothee Stapelfeldt, Senator for Urban Development and Housing, Thomas Hohwieler, Managing Director of SRE, and Dr. Andreas Mattner, Managing Director of ECE Projektmanagement as well as 400 guests and workers attended the event on Thursday. The completion of the 150-million-euro project has been scheduled for spring 2018.

Dr. Andreas Mattner, Managing Director at ECE said: “With its architectural and urban quality, these properties are an important component in the newly developed center of HafenCity. The WATERMARK office is tower an absolute highlight. It stands out in height from the surrounding buildings in the quarter and provides a fascinating view.”

In the center or the heart of the complex lies the shell of the WATERMARK office tower boasting a height of 70 m. Its 18 floors will have an elegant, white ceramic tile facade which blends in with the adjacent and also light-flooded HafenCity University, which is covered in white plaster.

The Landmark property, at the east end of Magdeburger Hafen will provide space for internationally operating companies. Besides its prestigious character, this state-of-the art property also features a roof terrace with a panoramic view. Together with WATERMARK, the buildings comprise a leasable area of 14,000 m².

SRE and ECE are in concrete talks with potential tenants not only for WATERMARK, but also for the SHIPYARD office property. It is being built adjacent to the high rise and will comprise a leasable area of 6,500 m² on seven stories. It is a concept for companies that are looking for a special location, a view on the Elbe, and offices with an efficient layout.
