Leadership Change at AUDI AG: Gernot Döllner Takes the Helm from Markus Duesmann

(IN BRIEF) Gernot Döllner has been announced as the new CEO of AUDI AG, taking over from Markus Duesmann in Volkswagen’s Group Board of Management on September 1, 2023. Döllner, who has a mechanical engineering background, has held several managerial positions at Porsche AG and currently serves as the head of Product and Group Strategy as well as the General Secretariat within the Volkswagen Group. Duesmann will resign from Group management alongside Döllner’s appointment.

He will be taking over the position from Markus Duesmann, who will step down from Group management at the same time. The decision was approved by the Group Supervisory Board.

Having been born in Lower Saxony, Gernot Döllner has a background in mechanical engineering and has been associated with Volkswagen since 1993 when he joined as a doctoral student. Throughout his career, he has held various managerial roles at Porsche AG, including leading the Concept Development and Panamera series departments. Since 2021, he has served as the head of Product and Group Strategy as well as the General Secretariat within the Volkswagen Group.
