(PRESS RELEASE) ALICANTE, 13-Jan-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Holcim (SWX: HOLN), one of the world’s leading suppliers of cement and aggregates, concrete and related services, has announced it will be joining The Ocean Race for its first round-the-world regatta as the only Swiss team in this year’s race. The team, named GO CIRCULAR, is circumnavigating the world to raise awareness for preserving the ocean and accelerating the shift to circular living. The team is led by experienced French skipper Kevin Escoffier, who was a crew member on The Ocean Race winning team in 2018. The team is made up of accomplished sailors with a track record in iconic races such as the Olympics, Vendée Globe, Route du Rhum and more. Throughout the race, the GO CIRCULAR team will be collecting water samples to advance marine science, hosting “GO CIRCULAR from sea to city talks” to raise awareness for more circular living and restoring marine ecosystems with Holcim’s bioactive concrete reefs.

The Holcim-PRB GO CIRCULAR crew, led by French skipper Kevin Escoffier brings together a diverse team of young talents such as Olympic medalist Susann Beucke (Germany) and Solitaire de Figaro winner Tom Laperche (France); and accomplished sailors with a track record in iconic races, including Sam Goodchild (UK), Abby Ehler (United Kingdom), and Fabien Delahaye (France).
