Ericsson Teams with Global Telecom Giants to Drive 5G Innovation and Enterprise Digitalization
(IN BRIEF) At an exclusive event in Boston, Ericsson announced a major collaboration with leading telecom operators, including AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, and Verizon, to launch a global platform for network APIs. This initiative aims to accelerate enterprise digitalization through 5G technology, providing easier access to advanced network capabilities for developers. Additionally, Ericsson revealed the unification of its Enterprise Wireless Solutions division, integrating Cradlepoint, Ericsson Private Networks, and Ericom under the Ericsson brand to offer enhanced wireless solutions for businesses.
(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 14-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — On September 12, 2024, Ericsson hosted an exclusive event in Boston, showcasing its latest venture in collaboration with some of the world’s largest telecom operators, including AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Verizon, and Vodafone. The historic partnership aims to open telecom networks, making advanced network capabilities accessible through a global platform for combined network APIs. This venture is poised to accelerate enterprise digitalization through 5G technology.
Ericsson executives, including Chief Technology Officer Erik Ekudden and Vonage CEO Niklas Heuveldop, emphasized the significance of this collaboration. They discussed how the new platform, powered by global operators, will simplify developer access to advanced network capabilities, driving innovation in 5G.
In addition to the partnership, Senior Vice President Åsa Tamsons highlighted the unification of Ericsson’s Enterprise Wireless Solutions division under the Ericsson brand, which integrates Cradlepoint, Ericsson Private Networks, and Ericom. This consolidation aims to enhance Ericsson’s enterprise offering, leveraging 5G leadership and security expertise to provide advanced wireless solutions for businesses worldwide.
This Boston event follows Ericsson’s earlier commitments to North America, showcasing the company’s dedication to the U.S. market and innovation in 5G technology.
