Equinor ASA Appoints Tone Hegland Bachke and Fernanda Lopes Larsen to Board of Directors

(IN BRIEF) Equinor ASA welcomed Tone Hegland Bachke and Fernanda Lopes Larsen as new members of its board of directors during a recent corporate assembly meeting on June 4, 2024. The assembly also re-elected Jon Erik Reinhardsen as chair and Anne Drinkwater as deputy chair, alongside the retention of Jonathan Lewis, Finn Bjørn Ruyter, and Haakon Bruun-Hanssen as board members. Notably, Rebekka Glasser Herlofsen and Tove Andersen will resign. Bachke, set to become Managing Director of SHV Holdings, brings extensive financial expertise, while Lopes Larsen, currently an executive at Yara International, offers substantial logistics and procurement experience. Their terms commence on July 1, 2024, lasting until the next election in June 2025.

In addition to the new appointments, the corporate assembly re-elected Jon Erik Reinhardsen as chair and Anne Drinkwater as deputy chair of the board. Also retained were Jonathan Lewis, Finn Bjørn Ruyter, and Haakon Bruun-Hanssen as board members. Notably, Rebekka Glasser Herlofsen and Tove Andersen will step down from their positions on the board. Mikael Karlsson, a board member since April 1, 2024, was not subject to re-election.

Tone Hegland Bachke, slated to begin her role as Managing Director of SHV Holdings in the Netherlands on September 1, 2024, brings a wealth of experience to Equinor. Her previous roles include Executive Vice President and Group CFO at Telenor ASA, CEO and CFO at Implenia Norge AS, and various managerial positions in companies such as Akastor ASA and Aker Solutions ASA.

Fernanda Lopes Larsen, currently serving as Executive Vice President of Yara Africa & Asia Pacific at Yara International, brings her extensive background in logistics and procurement to the Equinor board. Her past experience includes senior positions at Procter & Gamble and GlaxoSmithKline, as well as roles at Yara International since 2012.

The newly elected members will officially join the Equinor ASA board of directors on July 1, 2024, with their terms lasting until the next ordinary election in June 2025.
