DHL Announces Price Adjustments and New Product Offerings for International Shipping Starting July 2025

(IN BRIEF) DHL will implement moderate price increases for international parcels and small packages starting July 1, 2025. The price adjustments will vary across different country zones, with many areas seeing stable pricing. New services will include a 2 kg parcel option for non-EU shipping and expanded use of the mobile parcel label for global deliveries. DHL will also standardize the maximum weight for international parcels to 30 kg and phase out certain discount sets. These changes come in response to rising transportation and handling costs, with approval from the Federal Network Agency.

(PRESS RELEASE) BONN, 2-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — DHL is set to introduce price adjustments for international parcels and small packages starting July 1, 2025. These changes will vary depending on the destination country zones, with prices for many zones and weight categories remaining stable. The parcel service provider will also restructure the classification of small packages (“Päckchen”) to align with the country zones already established for parcels, simplifying the shipping process.

As part of the update, DHL will launch two new product offerings for private customers. A parcel weighing up to 2 kg will be available for non-EU shipments exclusively online, filling a gap that previously existed only for domestic and EU deliveries. Additionally, DHL is expanding the use of the “Mobile Paketmarke” (mobile parcel label), which allows customers to ship parcels and small packages to non-EU countries without the need to print shipping labels. With this new functionality, online-franked parcels can be dropped off at Packstation or Poststation locations for worldwide delivery, offering convenience and cost savings. This online franking advantage, which currently provides a discount of 1.50 or 3.00 euros per shipment for non-EU destinations, will now be extended to these customs destinations.

Starting in July, DHL will also standardize the maximum weight for international parcels to 30 kg, in line with the requirements of the Universal Postal Union. A slight price increase will apply to cylindrical shipments due to higher handling costs. Moreover, DHL will discontinue the “Premium” service for international shipping, citing a lack of demand, and will introduce new economy sets of 10 labels for “Päckchen XS” and “Paket bis 2 kg” products within the EU. However, the 50 and 100 label discount sets will be phased out due to insufficient demand. Customers who purchased coupon codes for economy sets until June 30, 2025, will still be able to use them for up to three years.

Due to increased labor, transportation, and delivery costs, DHL has found it necessary to adjust prices. Higher terminal dues for international delivery partners under the Universal Postal Union’s regulations, alongside rising road transport and air shipment handling costs, have driven these changes. The Federal Network Agency has already approved the adjustments, which will apply solely to DHL’s Post & Parcel Germany division, excluding DHL Express products.
