Cargotec: Hiab to present at the 65th IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014 exhibition in Hannover, Germany, 25 September – 2 October 2014

Helsinki, Finland, 24-9-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Hiab, part of Cargotec, will showcase its latest innovations and examples of sustainable load handling technology at the 65th IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014 exhibition in Hannover, Germany. The IAA is the leading international trade fair for mobility, transportation and logistics, taking place from 25 September until 2 October.

Hiab’s entire product range will be displayed at our stand in Pavilion 35, introducing the latest products and new features as well as software tools and solutions. Visitors can also see Hiab’s products in action: our equipment mounted on trucks directly in front of the hall and in a special test-driving area close by.

Hiab’s President, Roland Sundén comments: “We are celebrating Hiab’s 70th anniversary and I am especially proud to be presenting our latest innovations and technology at the IAA in this, our jubilee year.”

Hiab highlights at the IAA
The new painting process nDurance(TM) used in Hiab’s new multi-assembly unit Stargard, which was officially opened on 23 September, sets a new industry standard.  nDuranceTM is a technologically advanced and environmentally sound pre-treatment and paint process based on nanotechnology and e-coating. It offers a unique three-layer protection against corrosion and harsh working environments – the industry’s best hi-tech protection.

Hiab’s presented products at the IAA include a totally new vehicle solution for environmentally smart loading: the new Volvo FM (Euro 6), equipped with Hiab’s most energy-efficient loader crane HIAB X-HiPro 192 and MULTILIFT XR18SL ProFutureTM hooklift. The truck uses an electro-hydraulic system, or electric power take off (ePTO), installed additionally to the traditional engine power take off. This enables the crane operator to work with the engine switched off – quietly and free from exhaust fumes. The crane truck is ideal for sensitive environments such as town centres and residential areas, and it can also be operated indoors.

We also give a preview of the new 92 ton-metre HIAB X-HiPro loader crane that will be fully launched at the end of 2014, and present two recently launched loader cranes: the HIAB S-HiPro 130 refuse collector, and the HIAB X-CL 12 crane designed for the emerging, non-CE markets.

Furthermore, we show the latest innovations of our LOGLIFT and JONSERED forestry cranes, for example JONSERED 1088S97 with the Hose Protection Link (HPL) to guard the crane tip hoses, TimberTronics control system and with Cabin C912 that offers a superior visibility from the cabin due to large windows and innovative cabin lifting device.

The launch of our new MULTILIFT XR18Z hooklift with the optional Pro FutureTM package is a world premiere in Germany at the IAA. It is an18-tonne capacity hooklift with both sliding and tilting movement, designed to maximise the truck’s versatility and with the ability to handle a wide variation of body lengths.

At our stand visitors can also see the most energy-efficient models of our truck mounted forklift MOFFETT: the electric MOFFETT E2 Pro FutureTM, which is totally quiet and emission-free, and the environmentally-friendly MOFFETT M4 Pro Future(TM), which is the latest generation truck mounted forklift model with reduced fuel consumption.

Our tail lift brand ZEPRO introduces two new products: a unique slider concept with flexible installation system for trucks, and a standard cantilever product for rapid clamp on installation to semi-trailer frames

Carl Gustaf Göransson, Senior Vice President, Sales and Markets, Hiab, says: “To celebrate with our customers Hiab’s 70th anniversary, and also the 65th anniversary of our MULTILIFT brand, we have initiated several jubilee campaigns, which we introduce at our stand. For example, we are running a special campaign with favourable anniversary offers to customers to service their equipment or replace any worn out parts. Using Hiab original spare parts is the best way to secure full functionality of the equipment as well as optimal productivity and reliability.”

Hiab searching for the best crane driver
In addition to presenting the state-of-the-art technology, Hiab invites crane drivers to take part in the German qualification rounds of the 2015 World Crane Championships at our stand during the IAA. The winners of the qualification rounds will proceed to the finals, which will be held at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, United Kingdom in April 2015. There, the winner of the final will receive a cheque of EUR 20,000 for the purchase of his or her next crane, and a traveller’s cheque of EUR 5,000.
