(PRESS RELEASE) BONN, 13-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — DHL Group has announced a major long-term commitment to India, unveiling plans to invest approximately EUR 1 billion across all of its business divisions by 2030. This significant multi-year programme reflects DHL’s strong confidence in India’s rapidly evolving economy and supports the company’s Strategy 2030, which focuses on accelerating sustainable and technology-driven growth worldwide.

The investment will span several high-growth sectors, including life sciences and healthcare, e-commerce, green energy, digitalisation, and advanced logistics. DHL outlined a series of substantial infrastructure projects that will shape the organisation’s next phase of expansion in India. These include the creation of the first DHL Health Logistics hub for DHL Supply Chain India in Bhiwandi, the establishment of India’s largest low-emission integrated operating facility for Blue Dart in Bijwasan, and the development of DHL Express India’s first automatic sorting centre in Delhi. The Group will also open its fifth DHL IT Services Centre in Indore and set up Electric Vehicle and Battery Logistics Centres of Excellence in Chennai and Mumbai. In addition, Blue Dart will build the country’s largest low-emission integrated ground hub in Haryana.

DHL Group CEO Tobias Meyer emphasised that although global trade faces ongoing volatility, India’s diversification strategy, increasing industrial capabilities, and business-friendly environment are creating robust conditions for long-term investment. He noted that this substantial financial commitment will expand the Group’s ability to deliver reliable, efficient, and more sustainable logistics services to customers across India and beyond.

With more than 1,300 digital and logistics specialists already operating in the country, India has rapidly become a key global technology hub for DHL. The new IT Services Centre in Indore, paired with a new training academy, will nurture expertise in areas such as automation, artificial intelligence, and digital logistics — critical pillars of DHL’s ongoing digital transformation.

Data from DHL’s Global Connectedness Tracker underscores the country’s rising presence in world trade. The average distance of India’s goods trade is forecast to increase to 6,190 kilometres in 2025, compared with 6,090 kilometres in 2024, reflecting deepening commercial ties with partners across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. DHL’s extensive global network, spanning 220 countries and territories, positions the Group to support India’s expanding footprint in international supply chains.

Sustainability remains a core element of DHL’s Strategy 2030. The Group aims to cut its CO₂ emissions to 29 million metric tons by 2030 and ultimately achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. In India, the investment programme will accelerate efforts such as building low-emission logistics facilities, electrifying ground fleets, and expanding the GoGreen Plus initiative, which enables more sustainable shipping through renewable fuels and electric mobility.
