Carried out between 2023 and 2025, Bilfinger’s work covered the full scope of thermal insulation services, including engineering design, procurement, coordination, and on-site installation. The project involved insulating approximately 22,000 square meters of surface area, supported by the delivery of 31 truckloads of specialized materials to the facility.

Warsaw Waste-to-Energy plant – industrial insulation

The Warsaw waste-to-energy plant processes around 265,000 tons of municipal waste annually, converting it into electricity and heat that supply tens of thousands of households. The energy generated is integrated into both the city’s electricity grid and district heating network, playing a vital role in reducing reliance on traditional energy sources while supporting Poland’s broader environmental and energy transition objectives.

Marek Machoń highlighted the importance of collaboration and technical expertise in delivering the project, noting that the company’s teams adapted effectively to evolving project requirements while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and execution quality.

The insulation work contributes directly to the plant’s operational efficiency, reliability, and long-term performance. By enhancing thermal management across the facility, the project supports optimized energy generation and improved sustainability outcomes, reinforcing the role of advanced infrastructure in enabling circular economy practices.

Through this project, Bilfinger continues to strengthen its position as a trusted partner in delivering complex industrial services across Europe, particularly in the energy and process industries.
