Energiekontor Sells 11 MW Drensteinfurt-Rieth Wind Park to Private Investors, Boosting Renewables Growth

(IN BRIEF) Energiekontor AG has sold the 11 MW Drensteinfurt-Rieth onshore wind-project to private investors. Featuring two Enercon E-160 EP5 turbines (120 m hub, 160 m rotor), the park is forecast to produce 24 GWh annually—enough to power 7,000+ homes and prevent 18,000 t of CO₂ emissions. The project secured an EEG subsidy in August 2024 and will benefit from Energiekontor’s operational-management expertise post-commissioning. CEO Peter Szabo highlighted this as the company’s second sale of 2025, with more transactions in the pipeline and efforts underway to grow its own renewable-asset portfolio. Energiekontor, founded in 1990, now operates 39 parks (444 MW) with 160 MW under construction, has completed 170 projects (1.5 GW), and maintains a project pipeline of 11.2 GW. The firm has offices across Germany and branches in Europe and the USA and is listed on the SDAX (WKN 531350/ISIN DE0005313506).

(PRESS RELEASE) BREMEN, 24-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Energiekontor AG (“Energiekontor”), the Bremen-based German developer and operator of wind and solar parks listed in the General Standard, has sold its turnkey Drensteinfurt-Rieth onshore wind park project in the Warendorf district of North Rhine-Westphalia to a consortium of private investors. The 11 MW installation will feature two Enercon E-160 EP5 turbines—each standing 120 m at hub height with a 160 m rotor diameter—and is expected to generate approximately 24 GWh annually. This clean energy output can power over 7,000 households and avoid more than 18,000 t of CO₂ emissions each year. Awarded an EEG subsidy in last August’s German Federal Network Agency tender, the park will leverage Energiekontor’s proven expertise in operational management and performance optimization once commissioned.

“This marks our second project divestment this year and builds on our momentum,” commented Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG. “In early June 2025, we closed on an attractive, ready-to-build Scottish project that will boost our 2025 earnings. Two more deals are in final stages, and we’re in active negotiations on additional projects domestically and abroad, slated to conclude in the coming weeks and months. Simultaneously, we’re expanding our own park portfolio to secure recurring income from renewable generation.”

For nearly 35 years, Energiekontor has maintained a robust policy and deep expertise in renewables. Since its founding in Bremerhaven in 1990, the company has evolved into one of Germany’s foremost project developers, overseeing planning, construction, and operational management of wind and solar parks worldwide. Energiekontor currently operates 39 parks totalling ~444 MW and has ~160 MW under construction for its own portfolio. The firm aims to deploy its projects at market-based costs without reliance on subsidies and has offices across Germany—Bremen, Bremerhaven, Hagen im Bremischen, Aachen, Augsburg, Berlin, Potsdam, Hildesheim—and branches in the UK, Portugal, France, and the USA. To date, Energiekontor has brought online some 170 parks (1.5 GW) representing over €2.2 billion in investments. Its first-half-2024 pipeline of 11.2 GW (excluding US rights) underscores the company’s growth trajectory and commitment to advancing renewable energy.
