Webuild Expands Digital Infrastructure Storytelling Following Strong Public Response to “Evolutio” Exhibition

EVOLUTIO. For 120 years we have been building infrastructure for the future

(IN BRIEF) Webuild’s immersive “Evolutio” exhibition at Milan’s Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology attracted more than 36,000 visitors during its three-month run, demonstrating strong public interest in the historical and social role of infrastructure development in Italy. The exhibition explored over a century of public works and engineering achievements through digital storytelling, historical archives, photographs, guided tours, and public discussions. Webuild also launched a permanent digital museum platform and an interactive virtual tour experience to extend access to the exhibition internationally. The initiative forms part of the company’s broader cultural agenda aimed at highlighting the long-term economic and societal impact of infrastructure projects.

(PRESS RELEASE) MILAN, 13-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Webuild Group has concluded its immersive “Evolutio” exhibition at the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology after attracting more than 36,000 visitors during its three-month run, highlighting strong public interest in the role infrastructure has played in Italy’s social and economic development.

The exhibition, inaugurated on 11 February with the patronage of Assolombarda, explored more than 120 years of Italian infrastructure history through public works projects and engineering achievements that have contributed to the country’s modernization and connectivity.

At the center of the exhibition was a digital storytelling platform documenting projects built by Webuild and its predecessor companies. The platform includes approximately 12,000 photographs covering more than 400 infrastructure projects from the Group’s multimedia archive. Designed as a permanent virtual museum experience, the archive presents infrastructure projects within their broader historical, cultural, and economic context while emphasizing their long-term impact on communities and economic development.

The company stated that the exhibition sought to make engineering and infrastructure themes accessible both to industry professionals and the wider public by illustrating how large-scale public works influence daily life, regional integration, mobility, and economic growth.

To coincide with the closing of the exhibition, Webuild released a new video connected to the themes explored through “Evolutio.” The video focuses on the relationship between nature, human ingenuity, and infrastructure, emphasizing how public works can improve access to resources, strengthen territorial connections, and support broader social development.

The Milan exhibition followed a previous edition held in Rome, which attracted approximately 10,000 visitors. In Milan, the initiative also included a broad program of guided tours, public discussions, and cultural events involving more than 3,000 participants from academic, financial, institutional, religious, and private-sector organizations, alongside families and school groups.

Among the featured events were educational sessions organized with Geopop focused on explaining complex engineering challenges to wider audiences. Additional discussions examined the strategic evolution of the infrastructure sector in partnership with Aspen Institute Italia, while another event explored the relationship between public works and design in collaboration with Salone del Mobile.
