Webuild Wins USD 600 Million Package 3 Contracts to Expand Diriyah Square into Cultural and Commercial Hub

(IN BRIEF) Webuild has secured an additional USD 600 million in contracts for Diriyah Square’s Package 3 Finishing and MEP, bringing its total project value in the Diriyah development to around USD 2 billion. The scope includes more than 70 Najdi-inspired buildings and public spaces over 365,000 m², complementing an already under-construction 10,500-space underground car park. Active in Saudi Arabia since 1966, Webuild is also engaged in major initiatives such as the Riyadh-Qiddiya high-speed line, Trojena dams and lake, and Riyadh Metro Line 3, reinforcing its leadership in large-scale infrastructure.

(PRESS RELEASE) MILAN, 15-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Webuild has been awarded new contracts worth approximately USD 600 million (100% Group share) to advance Diriyah Square, the landmark cultural and commercial development in northwest Riyadh. These latest awards bring Webuild’s total commitments on the Diriyah project to nearly USD 2 billion, following previous packages that have already transformed the historic UNESCO World Heritage site of At-Turaif into a premier urban destination.

Under “Package 3 Finishing and MEP,” Webuild will deliver over 70 traditionally styled Najdi-architecture buildings and public realms across 365,000 m², creating a pedestrian-oriented hub for retail, dining, and leisure. This phase complements existing work, including a 10,500-space underground parking structure—55 percent complete since its 2022 award—and associated structural scopes in Packages 3, 6, and 7.

“We are honoured to contribute to such a symbolically rich and strategically vital endeavour for Saudi Arabia,” commented Pietro Salini, Webuild Chief Executive. “This new phase of Diriyah Square will strengthen our local footprint and generate lasting benefits for the community.”

Webuild’s history in the Kingdom dates back to 1966, with more than 90 landmark projects across civil buildings, sustainable mobility, and desalination. Current strategic engagements include the Riyadh–Qiddiya high-speed rail, the Trojena mountain-resort dams and freshwater lake, and Riyadh’s urbanisation masterplan. The Group also completed Riyadh Metro Line 3, the world-acclaimed Kingdom Tower (Emporis Skyscraper Award 2002), over 70 healthcare facilities, and a major Fisia Italimpianti desalination plant.
