Swissport signs multi-year contracts with Etihad Cargo for new German and Austrian cities

12-7-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — The multi-year contracts for new German and Austrian cities follow on from Swissport’s certification as Etihad Cargo’s PHP at Athens, Geneva, Larnaca, Nairobi, Seoul and Toronto. Only companies that meet the high service performance standards of Etihad Cargo and can assure consistency in quality across their regional operations can be certified as a PHP.

The deal includes cargo handling for multiple passenger and freighter flights. It reinforces Swissport´s performance in the areas of safety, security management, regulatory compliance, training, IT interfaces, business planning and risk management.

Nils Pries Knudsen, Senior Vice President Cargo Europe at Swissport International, said: “We are proud to now expand our partnership with Etihad Cargo through adding the three new stations in Germany and Austria, after just recently having been announced Preferred Handling Partner. We are looking forward to providing the highest quality services and processes to Etihad Cargo and its customers and to further enhance the reliability and quality of ground handling services to develop our network operations.”

Swissport International and Etihad Cargo are both members of the International Air Transport Association’s Cargo 2000 (C2K) industry group. The group’s mission is to create and implement a C2K quality standard and management system by bringing about greater efficiencies, improving customer service and reducing costs in the worldwide air cargo industry.
