Sika Strengthens Fast Forward Strategy Through Commercial Alliance with Giatec in Digital Concrete Technologies

(IN BRIEF) Sika has signed a commercial partnership with Giatec Scientific Inc. to expand its digital solutions portfolio in the global concrete industry. By integrating Giatec’s AI-driven sensors and software with Sika’s admixture expertise, the collaboration aims to optimize concrete mix design, improve quality control and provide real-time monitoring throughout production and delivery. The initiative supports Sika’s Fast Forward strategy, which targets CHF 150 to 200 million in incremental EBITDA by 2028. With construction increasingly adopting AI technologies, the partnership is intended to help concrete producers reduce costs, lower CO₂ emissions and improve operational efficiency while maintaining high performance standards.

(PRESS RELEASE) BAAR, 3-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Sika has entered into a commercial partnership with Giatec Scientific Inc., a Canada-based leader in digital concrete technologies, to expand its digital capabilities across the global concrete value chain. The collaboration is designed to provide concrete producers worldwide with access to AI-driven data solutions that improve quality control, enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

The agreement reinforces Sika’s broader innovation and digitalization strategy under its Fast Forward program, which targets an additional EBITDA contribution of CHF 150 to 200 million by 2028. As digital transformation accelerates across the construction sector, the integration of advanced data analytics into traditional materials businesses is becoming increasingly important.

Market forecasts reflect this momentum. According to Fortune Business Insights, the global market for AI in construction is expected to expand significantly over the coming years, highlighting growing demand for intelligent, data-based solutions. Within this evolving landscape, Sika and Giatec aim to combine materials expertise with real-time digital insights to support more efficient and sustainable concrete production.

Under the partnership, Sika will incorporate Giatec’s portfolio of sensors, software and AI-powered data analysis tools into its global offering. Through Sika’s extensive sales network spanning more than 100 countries, customers will gain broader access to digital technologies designed to optimize concrete operations from plant to job site.

Concrete producers face ongoing challenges, including fluctuations in raw material quality and limited transparency once concrete leaves the production facility. These factors often lead to overdesigned mixes, increasing costs and carbon emissions. By combining Giatec’s AI-based quality control and mix optimization tools with Sika’s advanced admixture technologies, producers can fine-tune cement and aggregate usage at the source. In addition, Giatec’s in-transit monitoring solutions enable real-time tracking during delivery, extending visibility beyond the plant.

The integrated approach supports improved material efficiency, lower production costs and reduced CO₂ emissions, while maintaining high performance standards on construction sites.

Ivo Schädler, Head Construction at Sika, emphasized that digitalization is central to the company’s ambition to lead across the construction value chain. He described the commercial agreement as a significant milestone in advancing digital transformation within the global concrete industry and enhancing value creation through innovation.

Pouria Ghods, CEO and Co-founder of Giatec, stated that the partnership enables the broader international deployment of digital concrete technologies. He noted that combining Sika’s materials expertise with Giatec’s data-driven solutions empowers producers to make informed decisions that strengthen performance and sustainability outcomes.

Industry professionals will have the opportunity to engage with both companies at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas from March 3–7, where Sika and Giatec will showcase their technologies in the Central Hall.
