(PRESS RELEASE) SÖDERTÄLJE, 4-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — At Bauma 2025, Scania is spearheading the drive toward a sustainable future in the construction and mining sectors by unveiling an expanded portfolio of power solutions. The company is showcasing an impressive range of battery-electric, hybrid, and gas-powered options, alongside fuel-efficient powertrains, robust trucks, and integrated digital services that promise to redefine efficiency and performance under demanding conditions.

Scania is launching new hybrid and fully electric power solutions tailored for industrial applications like mining and construction. Among these innovations is the zero-emission Scania BEV XT Tipper, designed with tandem bogies for enhanced traction, which combines high performance with the environmental benefits needed to meet the sector’s stringent emissions challenges. Also featured is the gas-powered CBG Tipper Tractor, engineered for superior strength and extended range while delivering reduced CO₂ emissions.

Visitors to Hall B4, stand 120 at Bauma 2025 (April 7–13) will discover how Scania’s solutions empower industries to transition to greener practices without sacrificing power or operational efficiency. The company’s comprehensive display includes a variety of powertrain options—from cutting-edge battery-electric and hybrid systems to advanced internal combustion engines—giving customers the flexibility to choose the right technology for their specific needs.

Highlighting its commitment to sustainability, Scania is also set to introduce its new in-house developed e-machine and battery pack system. This innovative solution integrates an e-machine, battery pack, internal combustion engine, and advanced control units to deliver parallel hybrid functionality. With low noise levels in electric mode, this system is particularly well-suited for urban environments, while hybrid mode offers additional power and range when required.

Stefano Fedel, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing at Scania, emphasized, “Scania now offers the necessary tools to transport materials without emissions. With an increasing number of infrastructure and building projects mandating or incentivizing zero-emission vehicles, our solutions are already proving essential in many European cities that have established zero-emission zones.”

In addition to these advancements, Scania will exhibit its range of industrial and power generation engines designed for the most challenging working conditions, including a heavy haulage tractor 8×4/4 powered by its renowned V8 engine—which is also capable of operating on HVO—and a CBG Tipper Tractor fueled by compressed biogas, offering longer range and reduced emissions. Complementing these offerings are integrated digital services that enhance safety, fleet management, and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.

Stefano Fedel further stated, “Scania is at the forefront of the sustainability shift, delivering zero-emission and low-carbon solutions that are robust, flexible, and efficient for today’s demanding construction and mining projects. Our diverse range of power options ensures that our customers can select tailored solutions that meet their operational needs while maintaining peak performance and uptime. As the industrial landscape evolves, we are committed to providing the right tools to help our customers overcome challenges and thrive.”
