Thorsten Jalk (ZITON) and Thomas Michel (RWE)

(IN BRIEF) RWE has extended its strategic partnership with ZITON for three years to secure jack-up vessel capacity for offshore wind maintenance operations across Europe. The agreement includes vessels, lifting, and auxiliary services for at least 240 days annually starting in 2027, supporting efficient component replacement and reducing operational risks in a competitive market. The collaboration enhances flexibility, minimizes downtime, and ensures stable performance across RWE’s growing offshore wind portfolio. The move aligns with RWE’s broader strategy to maintain efficiency and reliability as it expands its renewable energy operations.

(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 22-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — RWE has renewed its long-term collaboration with ZITON, extending their strategic agreement for an additional three years to support offshore wind operations across Europe. The updated framework ensures continued access to specialised jack-up vessel capacity, a critical resource in an increasingly competitive market.

The agreement, which builds on a partnership originally established in 2023, guarantees vessel availability along with lifting and auxiliary services for a minimum of 240 operational days per year starting in 2027. This arrangement is designed to support the maintenance and replacement of key components within RWE’s expanding offshore wind fleet in both the UK and continental Europe.

By securing dedicated vessel capacity, RWE aims to improve operational reliability and reduce exposure to fluctuating market costs. The collaboration also enhances the company’s ability to respond quickly to maintenance requirements, minimizing downtime and supporting consistent energy generation across its assets.
