Scania Launches 20,000km European Roadshow to Showcase Six Electric Truck Models and Charging Solutions

(IN BRIEF) Scania has launched The Electric Journey: An Optimisation Road Show, a four-month, 20,000km tour across 13 European cities showcasing six different electric truck models for applications ranging from urban delivery to refuse collection. Starting in Denmark and concluding in Sweden, the roadshow will let customers experience the trucks first-hand and engage in discussions about charging strategies, battery capacity, and operational optimisation. Charging stops at selected points will demonstrate how electric vehicles can be integrated into real-world operations. Scania says the initiative reflects its strong commitment to sustainable transport and aims to build operator confidence by bringing solutions directly to customers.

(PRESS RELEASE) SÖDERTÄLJE, 15-Aog-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Scania is taking its largest-ever showcase of electric trucks directly to customers across Europe in an ambitious 20,000-kilometre roadshow, The Electric Journey: An Optimisation Road Show. Running from mid-August to mid-December, the event will feature six different Scania electric truck models—spanning urban delivery, tipper, hooklift, tractor, and refuse collection applications—stopping in 13 cities from Denmark to Sweden. The initiative aims to give transport operators first-hand experience with Scania’s electric solutions while sparking conversations around the practicalities and benefits of electrification.

More than just a vehicle exhibition, the roadshow offers a unique platform for discussing charging strategies, with a focus on comparing maximum battery capacity to optimised capacity tailored for specific operational needs. Charging demonstrations will take place at selected points throughout the journey, highlighting how real-world operations can integrate electric vehicles into their fleets effectively.

This large-scale engagement reflects Scania’s commitment to advancing sustainable transport solutions wherever infrastructure and technology make adoption possible. By taking electric trucks directly to operators rather than waiting for them to visit Scania facilities, the company hopes to address lingering questions and build confidence among businesses still considering the shift to electric.

“We understand that many operators still have questions and concerns about electric transport,” said Alexandra Österplan, E-Mobility Stream Leader at Scania. “By bringing our electric trucks to them, we can demonstrate their business value, provide guidance on battery and charging strategies, and show how electrification can deliver practical and sustainable benefits. The positive reactions from customers who test our trucks prove that seeing is believing, and we are confident this roadshow will inspire more operators to embrace electric transport.”

Full details of the participating truck models, venue locations, and charging points are available on Scania’s website.
