Infineon Technologies Launches EiceDRIVER™ Power 2EP1xxR Family for Optimized Isolated Gate Driver Supplies

(IN BRIEF) Infineon Technologies has introduced the EiceDRIVER™ Power 2EP1xxR family, a new line of full-bridge transformer drivers designed for IGBT, SiC, and GaN gate driver power supplies. These devices offer a cost-effective, space-saving solution for isolated gate drivers, particularly in applications such as solar power, electric vehicle charging, energy storage, and more. The 2EP1xxR family features integrated temperature, short-circuit, and undervoltage lockout protections, with a wide input voltage range and unique duty-cycle adjustment capabilities. Four variants are available, catering to different power and application requirements. Evaluation boards are also provided for customer testing.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 27-Nov-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) has unveiled the new EiceDRIVER™ Power 2EP1xxR family, designed to offer efficient full-bridge transformer drivers for gate driver power supplies in IGBT, SiC, and GaN applications. This new product family expands Infineon’s range of power devices, providing a cost-effective and compact solution for isolated gate driver supplies. The 2EP1xxR family is ideal for industrial and consumer applications, including solar systems, electric vehicle charging, energy storage, welding equipment, uninterruptible power supplies, and various drive systems.

The 2EP1xxR family features a compact TSSOP8 pin package with integrated power and optimizations for generating asymmetric output voltages. It is designed with a unique duty-cycle adjustment capability, enabling easy adaptation of the output voltage to suit specific requirements. With a wide input voltage range of up to 20 V, the devices also incorporate important protective features such as temperature monitoring, short-circuit protection, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) to ensure the safety and reliability of the system.

This family includes four product variants tailored to different needs:

• 2EP100R and 2EP101R: Designed for low-component-count solutions for IGBT and SiC MOSFET gate driver power supplies.
• 2EP110R: Offers precise duty-cycle adjustments to match output voltage ratios for SiC and GaN power switches.
• 2EP130R: Provides enhanced flexibility, including 5-stage overcurrent protection, 41 selectable switching frequencies, and the ability to synchronize with external PWM for transformer matching, making it adaptable to various application requirements.
