(IN BRIEF) Egis has signed a new Memorandum of Cooperation with EDF at the World Nuclear Exhibition 2025 to explore joint opportunities under Poland’s Nuclear Power Programme. The agreement, signed by EDF’s Vakisasai Ramany and Egis’s Baptiste Pavy, builds on a previous collaboration and focuses on supporting the design, engineering, and delivery of EPR-based nuclear projects in Poland and potentially other countries. The partnership will also see Egis assisting EDF in identifying local suppliers and navigating Polish regulatory frameworks. With 80 years of experience in nuclear engineering and 25 years of local expertise in Poland, Egis aims to play a key role in supporting the nation’s energy transition and the global growth of low-carbon nuclear energy.

(PRESS RELEASE) POLAND, 6-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Egis has reinforced its long-standing relationship with EDF through a new Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) focused on advancing the Polish Nuclear Power Programme. The agreement was signed during the World Nuclear Exhibition 2025 by Vakisasai Ramany, Senior Vice-President for International Nuclear Development at EDF, and Baptiste Pavy, Country Business Line Director for Poland, Energy & Sustainable Cities at Egis. This renewed commitment reflects both companies’ shared vision to accelerate Poland’s transition toward a sustainable and low-carbon energy future.

The Polish Nuclear Power Programme aims to establish two large-scale nuclear power plants based on pressurised water reactor (PWR) technology, with a combined installed capacity of between 6 and 9 GWe. EDF, officially invited to participate in the competitive dialogue for the second nuclear power plant, is positioning its European Pressurised Reactor (EPR) technology as a key component in supporting Poland’s growing energy independence and decarbonisation objectives.

Building upon their earlier cooperation, Egis and EDF will now identify areas where their expertise can be jointly applied to the EPR Polish Project and other potential EPR developments worldwide. The agreement opens the door for Egis to contribute to the design, engineering, and execution of activities within EPR projects, while also helping EDF engage with regional suppliers and navigate local regulatory frameworks.

“Through this partnership, Egis reaffirms its commitment to advancing clean energy solutions and supporting Poland’s entry into the nuclear era,” said Baptiste Pavy. “Our combined strengths will allow us to deliver the highest technical standards while promoting sustainable, low-carbon infrastructure.”

This collaboration also aligns with Egis’s global mission to support the nuclear industry across all phases — from design and construction to operation, maintenance, and decommissioning. For over 80 years, Egis has provided integrated consulting and engineering services for nuclear facilities worldwide, covering energy, environmental, and infrastructure projects.

In Poland, Egis has been a trusted engineering and consulting partner for more than 25 years, employing 500 local experts in the fields of energy, mobility, infrastructure, environmental protection, and construction. This new phase of cooperation with EDF reinforces Egis’s strategic role in supporting Poland’s energy transformation and contributing to the global expansion of nuclear power as a clean, reliable source of energy.
