She succeeds Kai Hummel and will report directly to CEO Hein Schumacher. With extensive experience at the company, including her recent role leading ESG and external affairs, Ridley brings strong expertise in communications and public affairs. Her previous experience includes a global communications role with the World Health Organization, supporting her new leadership position at the global chocolate manufacturer.

(PRESS RELEASE) ZURICH, 13-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ —  Barry Callebaut has appointed Taryn Ridley as Vice President, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs, effective April 1, 2026. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing both internal and external communications, as well as public affairs activities on a global scale.

Ridley takes over the position from Kai Hummel, who has departed the company. She will report directly to CEO Hein Schumacher, reflecting the strategic importance of communications and stakeholder engagement within the organization.

Having joined Barry Callebaut in 2015, Ridley brings more than a decade of experience within the company. She has developed deep expertise across corporate communications, most recently serving as Director of External Affairs & ESG. In that role, she led the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and public affairs strategies and acted as a spokesperson on related topics.

Prior to her tenure at Barry Callebaut, Ridley worked with the World Health Organization at its European International Coordinating Center based at the University of St Andrews. There, she held a global role in internal communications, contributing to international health communication efforts.

Ridley holds a Master of Science in Public Health Research & Policy from the University of Aberdeen, as well as a Bachelor of Science with honors in Nutrition and Health from the University of Abertay Dundee.

Her appointment reflects Barry Callebaut’s continued focus on strengthening its communications strategy and reinforcing its engagement with stakeholders worldwide.
