New Pre-Engineered Grinding System from Metso Sets Benchmark for Safety, Cost Savings and Operational Performance

New Pre-Engineered Grinding System from Metso Sets Benchmark for Safety, Cost Savings and Operational Performance

(IN BRIEF) Metso has launched a configurable Grinding classification system featuring modular, pre-engineered components designed to dramatically improve the efficiency, safety, and installation speed of grinding circuits in minerals processing. The new system includes stackable modules for pumps, hydrocyclones, samplers, lubrication units, and more, eliminating the need for on-site modification and reducing installation time by a factor of four. According to Metso’s Grinding Systems Manager, Jesse Ting, the design also lowers overall costs by more than 20% and simplifies transportation by aligning each module with ISO container dimensions. Compatible with Vertimill®, HIGmill®, SMD, and ball mills, the system enhances both operational performance and lifecycle safety. The launch reinforces Metso’s long-standing leadership in grinding solutions, backed by extensive comminution expertise, global service capabilities, and a comprehensive portfolio of spare and wear parts.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 11-Dec-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Metso has introduced a new, highly configurable Grinding classification system designed to set a new industry standard for efficiency, safety, and streamlined installation in minerals processing. Built around an innovative modular architecture, the system features compact, pre-engineered units that integrate pumps, hydrocyclones, product samplers, liquid resistance starters, particle size analyzers, and mill lubrication systems. These modules can be installed quickly, stacked to maximize spatial efficiency, and combined in various configurations without the need for on-site redesign.

By eliminating complex on-site modifications and ensuring all modules arrive ready for operation, the system offers significant improvements in safety, quality, and reliability. It is suitable for all grinding mill types, enabling operators to adopt a scalable, high-performance classification solution regardless of their circuit design.

“Our customers receive a wide range of advantages from this next-generation system, which integrates seamlessly with existing operations and elevates grinding efficiency,” said Jesse Ting, Manager of Grinding Systems at Metso. “The standardized modules can be adapted for multiple mill types and classification stages, delivering four times faster installation and more than 20% cost savings compared with conventional setups. Each module is engineered to match standard 20-foot or 40-foot ISO containers, simplifying logistics, shipping, and installation. Safety has been embedded into every phase—from commissioning to ongoing operation and maintenance.”

The new system supports all Metso grinding technologies, including Vertimill®, Stirred Media Detritor (SMD), HIGmill®, and ball mills. More information is available on the company’s website.
