HENSOLDT and Schwarz Digits Partner to Build Sovereign Cloud and Sensor Solutions for Software Defined Defence

(IN BRIEF) HENSOLDT and Schwarz Digits have formed a strategic partnership to develop sovereign, cloud-enabled defence solutions that combine secure digital infrastructure with advanced sensor and multi-domain operational technologies. Leveraging STACKIT cloud services and HENSOLDT’s MDOcore software and sensor portfolio, the collaboration aims to deliver resilient, AI-supported capabilities for modern defence environments while ensuring data sovereignty and protection against future cyber threats. Prototype solutions are expected to be developed in 2026, with a planned showcase at the International Aerospace Exhibition in Berlin.

(PRESS RELEASE) NECKARSULM/MUNICH, 17-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — HENSOLDT and Schwarz Digits have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at advancing software-defined defence capabilities and building sovereign, data-driven operational infrastructures for Germany and allied nations. The collaboration will focus on integrating secure cloud environments, networked sensor technologies and multi-domain operational solutions to support modern defence requirements.

The initiative addresses increasing demand for independent digital infrastructure within the defence sector. Schwarz Digits will contribute its cloud platform STACKIT, providing end-to-end infrastructure designed to enable secure data processing and exchange, including environments capable of handling information classified up to VS-Secret level. The platform incorporates advanced cybersecurity mechanisms and quantum-resistant encryption technologies to safeguard sensitive data against emerging threats.

HENSOLDT will supply its defence technology portfolio, including sensors and mission-system expertise spanning radar, optronics, electromagnetic signal intelligence and other active and passive detection systems. Central to the collaboration is MDOcore, HENSOLDT’s modular, cloud-enabled software suite that enables interoperability between distributed data sources, supports AI-assisted data fusion and connects capabilities across land, air, sea, cyber and space domains.

The partnership also encompasses distributed data management, simulation environments and synthetic data generation tools used for training, artificial intelligence development, and system validation. By combining sovereign digital infrastructure with advanced sensing and integration technologies, the companies aim to deliver scalable solutions for networked operational theatres.

In 2026, the partners plan to translate their collaboration into concrete prototypes and joint offerings. One planned demonstration will integrate Schwarz Digits’ sovereign cloud capabilities with HENSOLDT’s sensor and simulation technologies, with a presentation targeted for the International Aerospace Exhibition in Berlin in June 2026.
