Eviden Joins Ford-Led Consortium to Revolutionize Electric Vehicle Manufacturing with Advanced Digital Monitoring

(IN BRIEF) Eviden, a digital and technology leader within the Atos Group, is participating in the European e-BEAT project, led by Ford, to optimize electric vehicle manufacturing. The project, supported by a consortium and partially funded by the CDTI, aims to create advanced tools for real-time decision-making, improving efficiency and sustainability in EV production. Eviden is developing the SAM4P Digital Platform, which integrates AI and machine learning to predict and prevent manufacturing defects, enhancing the overall production process.

(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID/PARIS, 3-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Eviden, a leader in digital, cloud, big data, and security within the Atos Group, has announced its participation in the European e-BEAT project. This initiative, led by Ford and supported by a consortium of industry leaders, aims to optimize the manufacturing process of electric vehicles (EVs) through advanced digital monitoring and intelligent decision-making tools.

The e-BEAT project, part of the CDTI Sustainable Automotive Technology Program, has a budget of over €8 million, with €3 million funded by the CDTI. The project’s objective is to develop a unique tool that enhances real-time decision-making, adjusts component design specifications at the supplier level, and tests new software without the need for physical prototypes.

Eviden’s contribution focuses on developing the SAM4P Digital Platform, which integrates all applications and software related to various vehicle components. By incorporating AI and Machine Learning, this platform supports early detection and prediction of manufacturing defects, streamlining the production process and reducing costs.

The project addresses four main areas: optimizing vehicle electrical architecture, improving logistics and component traceability, enhancing manufacturing quality through AI-based monitoring, and ensuring health and safety for operators. These innovations are expected to significantly reduce development time, improve sustainability, and enhance operator safety in EV manufacturing.

Eviden’s involvement underscores its commitment to advancing the automotive industry through cutting-edge technology. The SAM4P platform, central to the e-BEAT project, is set to become a game-changer in EV production, enabling manufacturers to prevent failures, automate operations, and ultimately, bring more efficient and sustainable vehicles to market.
