AI-enhanced ELIT AI platform strengthens Avantix capabilities in next-generation radar threat detection

(IN BRIEF) Eviden has launched ELIT AI, a new artificial intelligence-enhanced radar interception and electronic intelligence system developed by its SIGINT specialist subsidiary Avantix. The system is designed to detect and analyze both conventional radar emissions and advanced low probability of intercept signals used in modern electronic warfare environments. Featuring adaptive software-defined radio technologies and sovereign AI capabilities, ELIT AI provides real-time radar situational awareness, tactical visualization and advanced signal analysis. The solution has already been ordered by the French defense procurement agency DGA-MI and is intended to support military CEMA operations alongside Avantix’s broader ELINT portfolio.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 18-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Eviden, the mission-critical systems division of Atos, has announced the launch of ELIT AI, a next-generation radar interception and electronic intelligence system developed by its signals intelligence specialist subsidiary Avantix. The new system has already secured orders from the French defense procurement agency DGA-MI.

Designed for tactical radar situational awareness and electronic intelligence operations, ELIT AI combines advanced radar interception capabilities with artificial intelligence technologies to enable faster identification, visualization and analysis of increasingly complex radar waveforms in real time. The system is intended to support military and defense operations facing evolving electronic warfare threats and stealthier radar technologies.

According to Eviden, ELIT AI has been developed to detect, analyze and identify conventional radar emissions as well as modern low probability of intercept (LPI) signals that can dynamically modify their emissions while operating at reduced power levels. The company said the solution addresses the growing challenge posed by advanced radar systems designed to evade traditional interception methods.

The platform integrates adaptive software-defined radio (SDR) technologies together with sovereign artificial intelligence capabilities fully developed through Eviden’s own research and development activities. The company stated that ELIT AI offers intelligent scanning strategies, real-time tactical visualization, automated recording triggers and advanced deferred technical analysis functions intended to support long-term intelligence gathering and operational decision-making.

Eviden added that the sensor features improved sensitivity and an expanded spectral range to increase detection distances while enhancing operational agility and adaptability across different mission environments. The system’s modular hardware and software architecture also allows integration into multiple platforms and operational theaters.

Bernard Payer, Director of Mission-Critical Systems at Eviden and President of Avantix, said the new sensor demonstrates the company’s ability to innovate in electromagnetic warfare technologies as radar systems become increasingly stealthy and sophisticated. He described the adoption of ELIT AI by DGA-MI as a sign of confidence in the company’s electronic intelligence expertise.

The company said ELIT AI is designed to work alongside other solutions within Avantix’s ELINT portfolio, including CARACAL for radar signal databases and OSCAR for advanced radar signal analysis. Together, the systems provide integrated radar threat management capabilities spanning detection, analysis and identification in support of Cyber and ElectroMagnetic Activities (CEMA) operations.
