Ericsson transfers IoT and Connected Vehicle businesses to Aeris for global scale and stability

(IN BRIEF) Ericsson has announced the successful transfer of its IoT Accelerator (IoT-A) and Connected Vehicle Cloud (CVC) businesses and assets to Aeris, marking the birth of a new leader in the IoT market. Thousands of customers across several industries, including healthcare, fleet, utilities, and automotive, will benefit from the combined IoT businesses’ capabilities, enabling them to safely connect tens of millions of IoT devices and providing intelligent solutions that will allow IoT programs to scale and succeed. Aeris will help enterprises to scale effectively while solving common business challenges in IoT, providing them with global infrastructure tailored to meet their requirements.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 1-Apr-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Ericsson announces the closing of the transfer of Ericsson IoT Accelerator (IoT-A) and Connected Vehicle Cloud (CVC) businesses and related assets from Ericsson to Aeris. Ericsson has acquired a small stake in Aeris.

The capabilities of the combined IoT businesses will serve thousands of customers across a wide range of industries – including healthcare, fleet, utilities and automotive – safely connecting tens of millions of IoT devices and providing intelligent solutions enabling IoT programs to scale and succeed, everywhere. The Aeris Connected Vehicle business will help a growing list of automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to deploy, monetize and evolve their connected vehicle programs.
