(PRESS RELEASE) BONN, 28-Aug-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — DHL eCommerce has completed the acquisition of a minority stake in AJEX Logistics Services, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion in Saudi Arabia and strengthening AJEX’s footprint across the Middle East. The partnership combines AJEX’s local network and expertise with DHL’s global e-commerce capabilities, creating a strong platform to meet rapidly growing demand in the region.

AJEX, founded in 2021 and owned by Ajlan & Bros Holding Group, has quickly become a leading player in the regional logistics market. The company operates more than 60 facilities, deploys a fleet of 1,200 vehicles, and employs around 2,000 professionals. By joining forces with DHL eCommerce, AJEX customers across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East will gain access to enhanced, reliable, and efficient delivery services designed to support the region’s e-commerce growth.

This collaboration comes at a pivotal time for Saudi Arabia, where the e-commerce sector is projected to see double-digit growth and plays an important role in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy. DHL eCommerce’s entry into the market follows the broader DHL Group’s Strategy 2030 “Accelerate Sustainable Growth,” which includes an investment of EUR 500 million into high-potential markets like Saudi Arabia.

Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce, commented: “With AJEX’s strong regional presence and customer-first mindset, combined with DHL’s global operational expertise, we are well-positioned to deliver sustainable and affordable parcel solutions across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.”

Ajlan Mohamed Al Ajlan, Group Managing Director of Ajlan & Bros Holding Group, added: “This partnership will not only boost reliability and efficiency in the delivery sector but also support Saudi Vision 2030 goals. Together, AJEX and DHL will help drive the e-commerce boom across the region, supporting growth in high-potential industries and contributing to economic development.”

Mohammed Albayati, Group CEO of AJEX, described the acquisition as a turning point: “DHL’s minority stake underscores the market trust we have earned through our reliable and fast services. Our customers will now benefit from faster, smarter, and more innovative solutions, unlocking new opportunities in the region’s dynamic e-commerce market.”

As part of the agreement, DHL eCommerce will gain representation on the AJEX management board and holds an option to increase its stake to a majority position in the future. AJEX will also adopt new branding as “AJEX, a partner of DHL eCommerce.” With this move, DHL eCommerce joins other DHL business units already present in Saudi Arabia, including DHL Express, DHL Supply Chain, and DHL Global Forwarding, further strengthening the group’s role in one of the fastest-growing logistics markets worldwide.
