(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 17-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — MAN Truck & Bus has expanded its footprint in Mexico by opening a new sales office for trucks and buses in Querétaro, reinforcing the country’s role as a strategic growth market for the company’s commercial vehicle operations.

The new office reflects MAN’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the region and enhancing customer support within the transport and logistics sector. According to Friedrich Baumann, Board Member for Sales and Customer Solutions, the company is focused on building a strong local team—led by Pedro Teixeira as MAN Brand Manager—while raising service standards and deepening collaboration with customers and partners.

Mexico’s growing logistics sector and increasing demand for long-distance passenger transport have positioned the country as a key market for MAN in recent years. One notable trend is the rising popularity of cab-over truck designs, where the driver’s cab is positioned above the engine. These models are gaining traction over traditional long-nose trucks, as customers increasingly seek more advanced and efficient vehicle technologies.

MAN is addressing this demand with its flagship TGX model, which has already achieved strong performance in European and global markets. Designed for long-haul operations with a gross vehicle weight of up to 40 tonnes, the TGX offers engine outputs ranging from 440 to 640 horsepower and complies with Euro 6 emissions standards. It also incorporates advanced driver assistance systems such as MAN Efficient Cruise and MAN Emergency Brake Assist, along with a digitally optimized driver environment and enhanced comfort features for long-distance journeys.

In addition to trucks, MAN is placing significant emphasis on the bus segment, which plays a vital role in Mexico’s transportation landscape. Due to limited rail infrastructure, buses remain one of the most widely used forms of public transport in the country. Following a period of disruption during the pandemic, the long-distance coach market is now experiencing a steady recovery.

MAN’s strategy in Mexico focuses on supplying chassis rather than complete buses, allowing local partners to customize the final vehicles. The company collaborates with established bodybuilders such as Irizar and Marcopolo S.A. to produce modern coaches based on its Lion’s Chassis platforms. These include both two-axle and three-axle configurations equipped with fuel-efficient diesel engines, advanced safety systems, and high levels of passenger comfort.

The effectiveness of this partnership was highlighted at Expo Foro Movilidad 2026, where MAN, together with Volkswagen Truck & Bus Mexico, presented two coach models built on the Lion’s Chassis CO (RR2). These vehicles combine environmentally friendly Euro 6e engines with strong performance, cost efficiency, and safety features, demonstrating MAN’s ability to meet the evolving needs of the Mexican market.

Beyond its vehicle portfolio, MAN is also focusing on delivering comprehensive customer solutions that integrate sales, after-sales services, and technical support. Its “Simplifying Business” approach aims to streamline operations for customers through a combination of sustainable mobility solutions and full-service offerings. Supporting this strategy, MAN Financial Services has made financing, leasing, and insurance solutions fully available in Mexico since April 2025, further enhancing accessibility for customers.
