Czech Republic: Skanska to upgrade the old D1 Motorway under CZK 1.4 billion agreement

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 22-Jan-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Construction and development company, Skanska, is set to modernize the 14-kilometer D1 motorway in Czech Republic under the CZK 1.4 billion (SEK 580 million) contract with the Road and Motorway Directorate. 

The oldest motorway in the country will undergo demolition of old structures, repaving of road surfaces, and the construction of bridges and animal overpasses. The D1 motorway is the main highway that connects Prague and Brno, the two biggest cities in Czech Republic. The modernization of the D1 motorway started in 2013.

The construction of D1Motorway is set to start in March 2020 and expected to be completed September 2021.
