(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 29-Mar-2023 — /EuropaWire/ —High quality, close collaboration and wide-ranging professional competences were determining factors when Banedanmark once more chose to partner with AFRY and award the company with a 4-year framework agreement that involves technical inspections on all Banedanmark’s ongoing and upcoming projects. The framework agreement runs until 2027.

Banedanmark is responsible for the maintenance and traffic control of the state-owned railway network in Denmark. Besides developing, running, and renovating the Danish railway network, Banedanmark is also responsible for monitoring and planning rail traffic. As part of the green transition, Banedanmark is carrying out a program that electrifies the majority of the Danish state railway network in the period between 2014 and 2027.

AFRY’s experts within transportation, buildings and energy will carry out technical inspections on all Banedanmark’s projects in the Western and Eastern part of Denmark during the next four years. Inspections will cover disciplines such as environment, tracks, drainage, high voltage supply and traction power systems.

”There is a lot to be proud of – our long-term and strong collaboration with Banedanmark which we may now continue, as well as our cross-disciplinary competences,” says Amir Bigdeli, Section Manager for Civil Engineering in AFRY’s Danish Transportation unit.

The framework agreement consists of 16 contracts and has a total value for all suppliers of DKK 150 million over four years. For each contract, several suppliers have been chosen, and Banedanmark may choose among them to carry out projects over the next four years where technical inspections are needed. The qualifications of each supplier will be evaluated from contract to contract. AFRY is eligible for 12 out of the 16 contracts.
