(IN BRIEF) Finnish company Alma Media has launched a digital toolkit through its platform Vuokraovi.com’s Asuntoneuvos.com, which offers services for private landlords and property investors. The toolkit includes an electronic rental agreement signing feature, rent payment security, and access to housing market data. Asuntoneuvos.com has also introduced Vuokramaksuturva, which offers insurance to landlords, covering the equivalent of two months’ rent, to secure rent payments in case tenants fail to pay on time. The toolkit has been developed to increase flexibility, efficiency, and security for property investors.

(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 27-Feb-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Alma Media Oyj (HEL: ALMA), a Finnish media and digital service business company, announces that its platform Vuokraovi.com’s Asuntoneuvos.com (Housing Advisory) has launched a digital toolkit to assist private landlords and property investors in managing their rental properties more efficiently. With this service, landlords can electronically sign rental agreements, ensure timely rent payments, and improve the rentability of their properties. In addition, Asuntoneuvos.com provides housing market data to help users determine the rental and selling prices of their properties.

In Finland, the rental housing market is a significant part of the overall housing market, with more than two-thirds of the approximately 923,000 rental apartments being free-funded. There are also around 360,000 privately owned free-funded rental houses or apartments.

“Living on rent is more popular than before and the popularity of investing in apartments has grown in Finland due to interest in stable rental income and increase in value.

Asuntoneuvos.com expands the digitalisation of the rental process of Vuokraovi.com service from the apartment listing to documenting the contract and managing the rental relationship. Asuntoneuvos.com also extends our business to recurring service revenues, targeting especially the private landlords”, says Kari Kivelä, Head of Alma Consumer.

With Vuokramaksuturva, a rental payment security product offered by Asuntoneuvos.com, landlords can ensure the timely settlement of rent payments in their account, regardless of whether the tenant has paid on time. The insurance amount is equivalent to two months’ rent and comes with no deductible for cover. The cost of rental payment protection is 3.5% of the rent amount each month, and customers also receive Vakuutusturva, an insurance security, at no additional cost.

“According to market research, three out of four tenants are willing to rent a home online. According to Vuokraovi.com’s Market Pulse survey, forgoing the traditional monetary rental deposit is the second most important criterion for tenants among the benefits offered by a landlord. The fact that the rent deposit is zero euros is very or quite relevant for 76% of respondents when deciding on rental agreement”, says Henrik Laakkonen, Business Manager of Vuokraovi.com.

The digital rental process, which requires strong authentication, increases flexibility and efficiency for property investors, while also enhancing security. Asuntoneuvos.com has partnered with Garantia Insurance Limited Company and Svea Bank to provide this service to customers.

“Asuntoneuvos.com and the Ovipro service for real estate agents are examples of Alma Media’s strategic direction in developing marketplaces towards more advanced digital service platforms”, says Kari Kivelä, Head of Alma Consumer.
