Telia Completes SEK 6.55 Billion Sale of TV & Media to Schibsted, Retains TV4 and MTV Content

(IN BRIEF) Telia Company has sold its TV & Media division to Schibsted for SEK 6.55 billion (cash- and debt-free), as announced on 25 February. A new multi-year agreement guarantees that Telia’s TV service will retain TV4 and MTV programming. CEO Patrik Hofbauer emphasized that the sale supports Telia’s strategy of simplifying its business and focusing on connectivity. The deal proceeds will deleverage the balance sheet, bringing Telia’s net debt/adjusted EBITDA to the low end of its 2.0–2.5× target.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 1-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Telia Company has completed the divestment of its TV & Media business to Schibsted for an enterprise value of SEK 6.55 billion on a cash- and debt-free basis. The transaction, first announced on 25 February, also establishes a multi-year distribution agreement ensuring that Telia’s consumer TV packages will continue to feature TV4 and MTV content.
