(PRESS RELEASE) LIPPSTADT, 20-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Global automotive supplier FORVIA HELLA has launched its first RGB LED rear combination lamp with full-color light animations into mass production in China. This innovative lighting solution is featured in the new luxury all-electric C-class sedan Z10, produced by Geely Auto Group’s brand LYNK & CO, and aims to address the growing demand for brand differentiation and personalization in the automotive market.

The rear lamp, which debuted with the Z10 in the Chinese market on September 5, 2024, is capable of generating 256 color variants using the RGB spectrum (red, green, blue). This allows for dynamic, multi-colored light animations beyond the basic lighting functions. These include visually engaging effects like welcome/goodbye sequences, charging status indicators, and even burglar alarms. Additionally, legal requirements for tail lights, brake lights, position lights, and indicators are met with striking 3D optical elements, creating a distinctive rear lighting signature.

Yves Andres, Managing Director of Lighting at FORVIA HELLA, explained that in the Asian automotive market, customization and brand distinction are increasingly important, with lighting design playing a crucial role. By introducing RGB LED technology to exterior vehicle lighting, FORVIA HELLA is enhancing the consumer experience by allowing car manufacturers to differentiate their products and enabling vehicle owners to personalize their lighting designs.

This launch further solidifies FORVIA HELLA’s leadership in automotive lighting trends and its ability to anticipate local market demands with tailored product innovations.
